Definitely get the EWG when using the JB4 especially above map2. I'm currently running map3 and having fun but know of someone that went to map4 running e30 and said it was a wild ride for sure. Spoke to Terry at BMS who mentioned that v19 firmware is about to move out of Beta to production status so I would think about updating your firmware while your at it. Make sure to post logs on n54tech for Terry to review just to ensure all is well.Thanks. It’s hard to follow all the acronyms. Wastegate can be mechanical (planes only?), pneumatic or electric. Can often find more data on B58 on BMW sites than on SupraMKV. I’m going to add the wastegate control option to JB4 and get the E85. Should be a wild ride after that!
But is there any point of getting the EWG if you're just running 93?Definitely get the EWG when using the JB4 especially above map2. Would love an explanation, obviously it's cheap and I've already got a JB4 on the way and will have it done at a local shop, can add this but they basically said not worth it unless im running a blend, Map3/map4 difference was 0.5psi.
For me, running the EWG was based off a recommendation from Terry B. after posting a map2 log. I did notice that the car felt like it ran smoother(power was more linear)and shifts felt normal after installing the EWG.Would love an explanation, obviously it's cheap and I've already got a JB4 on the way and will have it done at a local shop, can add this but they basically said not worth it unless im running a blend, Map3/map4 difference was 0.5psi.
Hi guys. So I’m going to install a JB4 soon and I saw some of these posts about the EWG option. Would it benefit me to purchase that add on and hook it up even if I don’t really plan on having crazy mods or going above 91 octane as that is all we seem to have here where I live? I currently have an intake and have an AA catted downpipe and HKS exhaust on order. That’s as far as I plan on going with mods. For me, running the EWG was based off a recommendation from Terry B. after posting a map2 log. Good to know that it helps with the logging. Thank you.Yes. It’s cheap and will benefit logging and open up further maps down the road if you wish to go past map 2
Thanks! That’s good to know but I already have the JB4 with Bluetooth module. I got it from a forum member here for a good price last year. I just never installed it while I was breaking the car in. Now that Spring is here and she’s all broken in the real fun begins. ?FYI. If you order direct from berger, the jb4 now comes with the EWG cable installed free of charge. You still have to buy the Bluetooth module but it's a 35 dollar savings.
Heck yeah! Enjoy bud. I just installed mine this weekend and posted logs for berger to look over on their forums. It was quite the change in power. Thanks!
