What's It Take - Tire Change at Home

Is there any equipment out there that you could buy for home to change your tires? Not necessarily considering it, but was just curious if there are options out there.

And I don't mean my old timer dad's method with prybars...I like my wheels.

If there is something possible, I might consider, details depending.

I'm thinking something similar to a quick Jack. Works, affordable and doesn't make it worse.

In all seriousness a lot of people either buy some of the cheaper decent machines off Amazon or look for local sales of second hand equipment.

I’ve looked into it in the past and you need to be doing a lot of tire changes to make it worthwhile as even the “cheap” machines are a decent chunk of cash.

Thanks, thats what I figured and works for me. Need new tires soon, so it crossed my mind.

Oh well. Gotta support the local businesses.

If minimal touches is of any importance maybe look into a mobile installer in your area. That way no one else drives your car, you put it in the air, you remove the wheels, etc, etc.
