Does anyone know a good place to get refraction blue front bumper repainted? I had mine recently redone and it looks bad. I am located in socal but throw your recommendations.

Truthfully, I would try and find an experienced detailer in your area and ask them sand and buff it. If you keep piling material on it’s gonna get chewier and chewier. Unless of course it’s color, than by all means, respray.

Sanding and buffing won't fix that. It is fundamentally wrong in color. He needs to get that repainted as per his original post.

GL OP.. sorry, I no longer live in LA so can't recommend a good shop.

The front bumper got refinished in that small section while the rest of the bumper was untouched. Would sanding it and buffing reveal the old paint.

Red is where it was refinished

No you won’t be able to get back to the old paint. Unfortunately a partial refinish is destined to fail anyways unless it was fully cleared. In which case the sides would be darker as well, as clear does very slightly change color.

There’s a ton of variables at play here. In the paint line we use at work refraction only has one variant. With that said it could be bad mix, incorrect air pressure lightens and darken colors, to dark of an undercoat, and/or cheap clear.

this exactly. will never match 100% factory paint. Pros can get it close but never 100%. Painting on different surface material will also come into play.

update: I ended up going with this place called "Perfect Color" in anaheim and the paint match is about an 8/10. Better than before but still slightly off. Acceptable now. The job was around 600$ and I think they slightly chipped my windshield when waxing.

I can vouch for them (Perfect Color, Anaheim) as well, got my salvage title turbulence grey Supra repaired and painted by them. 10/10 paint job and customer service.
