I just opened 2 CF fenders and was super pumped to do so as I damaged my OEM fender and haven’t driven the car in a few weeks. To my dismay, I opened up the package to see quite a bit of cosmetic flaws and damage that one could consider wear and tear from being previously installed.

I’ve purchased more CF than any man probably should so I’m familiar with what to expect with CF parts. It does appear that 2 of the areas may have been defective during manufacturing but they still chose to ship these to me.

Curious your alls thoughts on this and if you’ve purchased from Carbon Creations before.

Thanks

That looks like shit in some spots.. I would return or get partial refund at least if you want to keep it and paint/vinyl those areas.

The reason I don’t think it was in transit is because it was wrapped EXTREMELY well. It had foam wrap and bubble wrap 2 layers each and tightly taped with minimal movement in the box.

Most of it looks like handling issue before packing to ship and stressing the parts during mould removal. Some looks like ham fisted mould line dressing down. Disappointing I guess but par for the course these days. At the price point they are charging I'm doubting they are made in the USA so somewhere in Asia maybe
Hard to tell from the images but looks like vacuum bagged wet layup stuff to me. It's gong to get damaged by road debris anyway but I suppose it depends on how OCD you are about this stuff. Personally I'm not a fan of natural look carbon, seems so 20th century to me so I wouldn't be too concerned as I'd be painting it anyway.

going to look 10x worse after 10 miles on the road if you don't paint them, much ado about nothing. take 5 minutes and polish them if scuffs bother you.

Disagree. My stock fenders don’t have a single chip or scratch on them after 13k miles and no PPF

that's honestly impressive !
I’m extremely careful lol. No driving in weather, garage kept, park far from other cars and avoid driving too close behind people. That said, im sure it won’t remain this way forever.
