what filter would you use?
I would never ever use a K&N again. Ruined my turbo engine in a car. The mechanic showed me the wear and the fine silt that had gotten past the filter. He said he would never recommend to a customer to use one. 1000s of dollars later, as the engine needed to be replaced and no real response from K&N.

Installed a new intake manifold over the weekend.

Ruined an engine using the oil type filters. Had to have my engine replaced so much wear from the dust that gets by the filter. The shop I used showed me the damage and said, don't ever use this type of filter. They raced and knew engines well.

Never had an issue with open filters.

depends on air quality and maintaining the filter.

Maintained the filter on a very regular basis. The shop I used said never, never use this type of filter. Hold it up, you can see through it in little areas. What do you think all the dust is doing, avoiding those areas? Do as you please, avoid an air filter but not for me.

K&N. It was Nevada, northern, and not so dusty but that is beside the point. Do you want a filter that if it is dusty, you are going to running that through your motor for some extra horsepower?

Each person's car and money, do as you wish.
