Has anyone noticed an issue with weathertech mats disintergating? I have had front mats in the car since I got it back in 2019. It has been a few years since I pulled them out to clean them. This time I notices the undersides of both mats were sticky and the carpet underneath was also sticky. Nothing spilled, it is definitely the mats coming apart. I tried to wash them to see if it makes a difference but it had no impact. For all but about 1 year the car was garage kept and even when it was not, it had a cover on it. If you have weathertech I strongly advise checking it and keeping an eye on it. I will probably switch over to oem.

As a follow-up, weathertech support responded saying they have two products to address the issue. One to clean and stabilize the mats and one to clean the goo off the carpet. The links they provided are below. I guess this a thing. Slightly disappointing, I thought weathertech were pretty solid.

Well it's nice of them to upsell you two products that don't really address the underlying issue which is that of their mats degrading on the underside and affecting the carpet.
These are just cleaning products. Interesting to hear if it's only an isolated problem or if others have had the same issue.

I haven’t. Weather tech should be lifetime warranty as far as I remember. See if they can honor their warranty as they should. I will say I’m not a fan of their fitment as there is play in the mats I’ve always noticed when I go to brake or apply throttle. I will eventually switch them out for Tux Mats. I have them in my 2 series and I’m loving them. Better coverage too. I just need to figure out how to clean them properly next.
