Got the car 2 weeks ago, NAV system didn’t work. Discovered they didn’t do a proper PDI and get the codes from Germany (yada yada yada—been covered many times here) —-BUT my issue is that they are now saying the computer says “everything it has is active”?? The NAV might be “active” but it isn’t working! Also, the factory set “concierge service preprogrammed telephone number” is wrong! WTH?!!!! They are telling me they need to do a computer overhaul to get everything squared away—-does this sound “kosher” to you all who are FAR more tech savvy than I am???

Same thing on my car. Nav was not activated by the dealer. On some cars, they can just go in and send out the activation code/request and it comes up within a few minutes. I have heard of other cars where they need to basically re-start the entire PDI process and go step by step to make it all start working. I guess sometimes the computers can get pissed off or hung up on a certain step or point and won't want to move forward without all the previous steps in place? Idk seems stupid. Made me worried that if they cant even follow directions enough to PDI a brand new car, how the hell can they service it when things get critical...

Well the bullshit has begun—-had a 915 appointment for the car—-at 10 they told me it was going to be a few hours—no calls, no follow up—-I call them several times, no return calls. I show up and the service advisor guy is telling me about how there may be a bigger computer issue because it won’t hook up and communicate with anything. Just then, the actual tech walks up, and tells the advisor, “I’m not going to get to that Supra today, haven’t even hooked it up yet—- I’ll hit it first thing in the morning!” I kinda lose my shit—-end result, it’ll be back at the shop at 7 to be properly set up. I just do not understand how difficult it is to do your GD job! Ughhhhhhh

The activation can take a few hours but wow that dealer is full of it. Unless there is something wrong with the telecommunications ecu. it shouldnt be that difficult to do. It just a waiting game with the activation

Just give service some time. The whole process for the nav activation kinda sucks for the tech but they can at least start it and work on something else while they wait. Unless there is another issue. But i highly doubt it. Sorry ur going through the trouble. One of the things that usually needs time to get done after sale. Great color choice then! Hahaha love this car

Why wouldn’t they
News flash, techs don’t care about your bmw. They need to work on the cars that make them money. Nothing is going to happen fast with this car at the dealer.
Why wouldn’t they make money working on a Supra? Or are you just being “that guy”??

There were only 2 in the whole state of Florida in Phantom Matte—-one dealer didn’t want to deal, the other one did, he got the sale!! 52k for the premium with the safety package—-

i dont know about that...lol just certain techs can work on them not many are trained to do so. Depending on their work load it wont be a priority for sure. But that could be fixed with a trip to the service manager from the sales manager/gm :) Lol im sure a tech would rather work on a "bmw" than an airbag recall right now lmfao. But like i said before since it takes a while best bet is to leave it all day. Gives them a better chance to get the activation done. Good luck

They used to do the same shit with the subaru and mazda they work on at the shop. Some people dont like change. They get paid for the pdi. And if they dont they need to have a talk with their manager because that shit pays. Hahaha maybe they rather do a feee alignment check lol
