Yes I just bought this and some isopropyl alcohol yesterday.
Can't fine any isopropyl alcohol anywhere around here. Have resorted to 151 proof and it works as well and used it on the inside with this tool. And if I get frustrated, I can drink it, unlike isopropyl. lol

I was thinking maybe a clay bar would help but you guys think the alcohol would remove those dots?

I know the front windshield is horrible but the side ones are just as bad. One thing to be careful is the driver and passenger seat belt metal clip. Don't let it ravel up fast because the metal end will chip your window if it smacks it. Did that by accidentally letting the seat belt ravel when unbuckling and the metal end of the clip smack the window chipping it. I suggest holding the clip and let the belt ravel slowing up or moving the clip away so it doesn't smack the window.

Neither. alcohol just removes the streaks. The dots are micro etched/chips in the class.
Well that blows. Here’s to hoping that when I tint my windshield that maybe it’ll somehow help make it less noticeable under direct light ‍:dunno:

I have at least 5 small chips already on the front windshield. Having driven for many years in all kinds of conditions, and far worse, with small rocks etc, this glass seems to chip so much easier than anything I have had in the past. It is very frustrating. Even my FJ Cruiser with it upright and known to crack easily, does better! And I have only 2400 miles on the car, while avoiding being behind trucks etc. Seems like most anything will easily chip the glass. Must be very soft.
Noticed it too. When I had my front windshield tinted, I noticed a fine line from the blade. They guy at the shop I had it done said he never saw a windshield glass so soft to do that.

You can still do it. I had it done, and you don't notice it too much unless you are up close and in direct sunlight. See if getting expel ppf would help the outside of the window. If you do get it tinted, look into the ceramic Ultra violett tint. Its different and more expensive, but we'll worth it.

Thanks for sharing! Glad that it’s less noticeable with the tint. Makes it even more worth it!

Yup, the windshield is stupid. Typical BMW windshield. On my 2nd one already, only did 2k miles.

you need exoshield windscreen protector. it functions liek clearbra on your windshield. really good investment and scratch free unless your wiper blades sucks and start scraping it

How long does it last before needing to be replaced?

I called Exoshield and the lifespan, with variables is around 4 years. Nice you can also get it tinted and they say, it is harder, once cured, than the glass but of course, absorbs, to an extent, hits much better.

i got exoshield on my windshield, figured it would be worth the price of having to replace my windshield and have it retinted as well.

It costs 400 to have it done here. Seems worth it.
