I'm having same issues right now in the middle of the install. As you said, cooling hoses won't clip into the factory fittings, as if the taper is in incorrect and not letting fitting go in far enough. I removed the o ring and it still didn't clip. Where did you get your replacement...
...I have possibly a fault with the turbo, coolant runs low and I had to add oil after 2000 miles since an oil change. I did change the coolantcap (the larger one) and it seems to have helped. I was getting white smoke from the exhaust, low coolant etc.
So, had to have it towed to a mechanic...
Both reservoir caps are dry and have no coolant residue. I’ve heard of others mention that the fix for “low coolant” is a new cap, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here
Not technically, reservoir cap failure is common and results in evaporation over time. Have you checked both reservoir caps? Any dried coolant on either? Are either hard to remove/reinstall?
This is only for the brave (and if you're like me the desperate and dumb 😂)
You don't have to remove the engine or subframe to install forged internals.
This all started with the oil cap breather I installed. It didn't cause the issue but it masked it.
The issue I had was a cracked valve...
Went to drive the car after it sat for a week while I was on vacation. Got a message about Low/No Coolant.
Main reservoir was bone dry, so spent most of the morning trying to track down HT-12 and a new cap when my nearest BMW dealer is over an hour away.
Took a quick pic on the test drive...
I get a low coolant warning when I first start the engine. I want to check coolant level but can’t get either cap off. I didn’t want to force it and break it. Should I twist harder?
Great pointers! I followed your advice and they actually came without MUCH difficulty.
OEM manifold is out now and I just taped the valve openings to be safe.
I will buy Grumpy Vet a beer. This job would’ve been really hard without this video.
I put a pause on the process because I FINALLY...
2024 3.0 6MT with 6200 miles on the OD. I've been experiencing the smell of coolant from the engine bay after driving the car for more than 30 minutes. I had the coolant system pressure tested and it held at 1.5bar steady. Inspected for leaks in the usual places two separate shops could not...

For sale 3 red Versus engine bay cap set. Oil cap and 2 coolant fill caps. They are install over the oem caps. Please note the oil cap cover is just that, the cover. It simply pushes onto the oem cap. The coolant fill caps do the same thing but they is no way of getting them off the oem caps...
Not too bad. Got to yank the evap line to turbo and cap it and button stuff up, bleed IC and we're done here. About 3 hrs in. Coolant lines on factory and Wagner manis are the hard part.
