Bummer to hear.
I'm on springs and spacers, stock rim/tire, factory alignment in a 23 MT, car drives completely straight with zero steering inputs no matter how much throttle or gear I'm in. Sounds like a warranty claim is in order, a genuine safety issue is the justification.
Hope you get it...
That's awesome, enjoying the MT on the big track! I've done big willow a few times with my old FD Rx-7. I can totally feel those corners and the speed as you drove them in the video. I also have a DC2, it's my DD, love that thing. Such a great little car ?
That track is pretty tough on brakes...
Yep. I thought I may have clutch slipping issues too after reading this thread and the "other" clutch issues thread, and that the CDV or bad design, poor workmanship, or crap parts were to blame.
I have 1800+miles on the car now, recently did a spirited drive with a lot of heavy braking, hill...
Congrats on the magic 1k mile mark! Hell yeah SEND IT! ? I love hearing people actually enjoying the car.
Speaking of MTs at the track, check this guy out he's absolutely flying in his MT. Anybody know him or his clutch/car setup?
I was just thinking about this, track use really exposes weak links in the hardware (car) and software (driver). Toyota must have been "pretty confident" the MT's can take some abuse if they're encouraging us to run at least one track day.
And right, if the cars do have issues there should be a...
I just had them installed them in my MT, I posted some pics. Here's a couple more and keep in mind its a fresh install without alignment so car may settle a bit over time.

Here's a...
Right, the ride quality is totally subjective I think I am somewhat desensitized to it since I'm used to rough riding cars... And if you head to the track just feel it out you may not rub at all if you don't really push it or if the track itself doesn't have corners that would put heavy...
Had these springs installed with 10mm front and 13mm rear spacers. Exactly the look I'm going for thanks to the OP for the tips!
Have about 50 miles on them, no alignment yet, car tracks super straight so far, feels pretty much stock. Front wheel camber looks a little more negative than I...
Go to 2:50 in this video and CM says a few things about that, not a whole lot of info unfortunately.
Also have you guys seen this? Wonder how the clutch is doing on that A91-MT? ? Bro has some ridiculous driving skills ?
It would be nice if the clutch delay valve was electronically adjustable from the cabin ("intelligent" MT after all), or if it could be adjusted manually. Apparently Toyota determined that the production car required a certain level of clutch slip to protect the drive train from shock at the...
Right, I've seen what I believe is the same strat blue MT car in a number of videos (same Texas plate?). Would be nice to know how it's holding up.

I have an android phone.... And yes I agree pictures seem to filter out the subtle purple. Although in shaded lighting it seems to show more authentically. This was inside the dealer showroom when I picked up the car.
Yup. I've seen it myself.
Money can't buy skill or driver awareness. Although, I would hope, with all the money it costs to purchase and run those cars on track, that they would have taken the time to get some instruction on how to drive on track. A big part of that is situational awareness...
Thanks! Honestly I am not sure what would be more of a handful, when I drove an auto the gear ratios seemed closely spaced, almost like I'd have to shift mid corner... The manual car you just kind of lean into it and let the engine do the work if that makes any sense.
Two more pictures attached ?
Bought a one way plane ticket, went straight to dealership and drove 400+ miles home. Absolutely love this car. People freaked out when I stopped for fuel and at Dennys for my chorizo skillet breakfast ?
I was wondering same thing. I felt like throwing this dealer under the bus and shame them publicly but decided to let it go. This socal dealer told me $20k. I laughed. I mean really? I can understand a few thousand maybe but 10-20k? Are people really paying that?! Encouraging bad dealer behavior.
Definitely not good news to hear this. I would like to give Toyota and BMW the benefit of the doubt and think (hope) they did a good job designing the clutch system to be reasonably durable.
The notion of the clutch being defined as a wear item... Ugh. 1 year/12k miles is nothing. I've never...
Right on, glad to know I live reasonably close to your shop! Couple questions:
1. How you feel about Eibach pro-kit versus H&R springs for a semi-daily driver, occasional autocross, maybe a track day here or there, otherwise stock MT Supra? Generaly speaking (if it was your car, what would you...
