I try to make my points lol...the 2 and 4 share motors..."wait for it"...not the chassis!
None of us are engineers here involved in developing the A90...the fact that they did what they did must have made more sense than what wasn't done...what's left?! Drive it! See if it makes you like it or...
That's the point we are trying to make! People will just buy what their pocket allows and that's that! It's a sad truth and all relative to the buyer at hand...50k is a lot of money for some, just right for others, and cheap for another group!
Yes, simple math...29k is a lot less...but still...
My good sir! As much of a Supra fanboy as I am I need to bring this to your attention...
1. The 80's...the AE86 and the Supra.
2. The 90's...the Celica and the Supra.
3. Today...the 86 and the Supra
As seen below...the Supra always has been a slightly bigger brother to an existing sibling in...
The final product of the flattening! I find this look w/ the 3-piece carbon fiber lip spoiler and the MKIV-style rear lights very clean!

I thought I saw 12.9 somewhere but I could be wrong if youve seen otherwise...if it's lower than 12.9 it further supports the point I was trying to make in comparison to the Z! I apologize if I was wrong and it's in fact lower!
Since you think the A90 deserves a 370z pricetag and would have been worthy of one without the BMW collaboration, let's take a look at the 370z...
Base model 370z @ 29k
VQ37 rated at 332 HP and 270 lb-ft of Torque
(Similar HP, far less torque)
But let's see the 0-60 and 1/4 mile time to judge...
Love the rear lights and I agree about the trunk, but apparently , he's prepping the trunk lid for a proper rendering with a TRD style wing...so stay tuned!
Here's just the decklid

As history is bound to repeat itself, and consumers drive the car, what do you think might be the remaining complaint?!...the BMW factor?!...or still the power?!
You bring up some valid points; such as the Supra pushing boundaries in the 90s. The MKIV was right up there with Porsche and Ferrari. However, Porsche and Ferrari were further down the pole in terms of R&D at the time in comparison to today. While the Supra, and Toyota stayed dormant for 20yrs...
