Welcome to the group. You drove just a bit further than I did (1200 miles) from SW Florida to north of Atlanta, Georgia. Hopefully you'll enjoy your Supra as much as I do mine! You should post up a photo.
Too bad about Lando & Oscar. But this will make for a VERY interesting last 2 weekends.
Kimi should have got the drive of the race. Max just passed Lando at the start where Lando F'd up. From there it was just a cruise with a faster car.
Kimi drove from 17th on the grid to 5th at the end. And...
I had a fun, although a bit chilly, day at Sebring. I run the intermediate group because I'm not out to prove just how fast I can be. I did that for 15+ years while racing wheel to wheel in SCCA Nationals. Besides, it's not like I'm in my 20's or 30's or even my 60's... at 76 years old I know...
I think Danny was wrong. With an entirely new power unit, the team is allowed to select whatever power mode they want. So the new unit provides 15 to 20 more hp and a different/better mode adds even more.
That doesn't take away from a terrific drive by Max. There is no question he is one of...
Lando is 49 points ahead of Max after Brazil. In the last 3 weekends (including a sprint race) if max wins all 3 & the sprint, and Lando finishes 5th in all of them, they will be tied on points at the end of the season and Max would win the tie breaker with 8 wins over the season to Lando's 7...
Yup. A guy I did auto-X with got a Tesla. He won his class AS at the SCCA Nationals and then got rid of it. He said it was the most boring car he ever drove!
I happen to be a fan of English style dragons and my wife has taken to calling our Supra 'The Dragon'. So when I saw this door mat which fits in the trunk perfectly, I couldn't resist. BTW, the other photo is me at Daytona last month.
I'm still hoping for a the new Celica to be 4 cylinder turbo making close to 400hp (we all know it will be closer to 300hp) and all wheel drive with a fair amount of luxury accessories.
I race SCCA for over 20 years, that's not quite true. Once you own all the hardware (tow rig, trailer, tools, safety gear, etc) it's only a little more expensive. Unless you intend to win.
I'll be out there on Nov 11th for an SCCA Track Night in America event. I've driven Sebring a couple of times in an NC Miata with an aftermarket turbo and a 'built' 2.5 liter ford motor. It should be fun in the Supra, but lap times aren't part of my quest. LOL!
