“Unlock” is misleading. Read and clonable is different than boatloader unlocked.
As an A91-AT owner it would be awesome to see new manufactured ecus that are unlockable! This is highly unlikely.

For the majority of people, nothing. There is a level of refinement that can be achieved through RaceRom you cannot achieve in just tuning the calibration maps.
Do most tuners do this on street cars? No.
Is Ecutek objectively better for racing given a tuner of the same proficiency? Yes.

I agree that power isn't everything on a racing circuit so "fast enough" is a much lower bar. For street cars that's entirely the opposite, we live in the land of mid-single-digit 60-130 times on the street and a JB4 isn't gonna get even close for that kind of fast.

If not having a CEL is the highest priority (besides waiting to unlock) the forum has a ton of folks running the AA and AMS catted downpipes without the CEL.
