  3. Tuning - can you confirm what the OEM 'Engine Sport' mode actually does?

Good info. Can you pull the difference with Sport and Sport Plus maps (that folks turn on)?
  4. DFW area

There’s a GroupMe chat. If you join the “MKV Supra Owners of Texas” on FB and let the admin know you’re in DFW, then they’ll send you an invite to the GroupMe chat.
  5. Chevron Techron vs Shell V-Power

My order of preference: Chevron, then Shell, then any Top Tier station. Chevron did work for BMW long ago (think E30, E36 timeframe) on a chemical to help with the carbon build-up in BMWs. That chemical is called Techron.
  6. Throttle hesitation

I used to have throttle hesitation for a few minutes after a start (cold or warm). After I disconnected the battery (to install JB Plus) and used a battery charger to top off the battery (Noco AGM charger), the throttle hesitation stopped.
  7. First Supra vs Nissan Z side by side direct comparison look

I hear you on the inflation bit. Hear me out… The 350z started at $27,650. (I paid $34,550 MSRP for the 350z Track pre-order back in 2002) The 370z started at $30,090. The base price only went up less than $3k between the two Given the age of the platform and powertrain, where is that $10k...
  8. First Supra vs Nissan Z side by side direct comparison look

Looks are subjective. If you want savage geese or crazy chicken or that Scotty guy to decide what looks good and drives good for you, then more power to you. ? I have no doubt Nissan will sell more Zs - it’s the Altima of sports cars. When supply starts over taking demand at dealer lots, I’m...
  9. Coolant Additive / Water Wetter

Wow, I haven’t used Water Wetter since the 90’s. ? IIRC, the science behind it is that it’s basically a surfactant that breaks the surface tension of water, so it helps prevent hot pockets of steam from forming in cavitation areas of the cooling system. If I’d have ongoing rising hot temps...
  10. Previous 2 Cars

My first Porsche was a 2004 C4S in Atlas Grey Metallic. I owned it a few months before stumbling across a deal on a 2003 Turbo in Seal Grey. I actually kind of miss the C4S, the 996 C4S is the best looking C4S rear end and AGM is a rare and beautiful color.
  11. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

? I could ask my neighbor that works for TFS if it’s on display there…
  12. Do you have an Insta for your Supra?

https://www.instagram.com/the.michael.dee/ Supra, 4Runner, food, and doggo content.
  13. All-new 2023 Nissan Z makes world debut!

Toyota does the same thing. The 5th gen 4Runner is in its 12th production year and it’s chassis is a 4th gen chassis with some small tweaks/reinforcements.
  14. What do you do for a living?

    Software janitor - I clean/fix shitty/broken code.
  15. How much did you pay to tint your windows?

$570 for windshield film, 40% Llumar CTX on the sides, and 30% Llumar CTX
  16. New (and old) SupraMKV members say hello!

I couldn’t wait any longer for the M/T announcement (then availability), so I bought this 2022 Premium 3.0 with Driver Assist last night as a stop gap. When the M/T is available and if resale values are still strong, then I may trade it in for a M/T.
  17. All-new 2023 Nissan Z makes world debut!

Back in the 90’s, I remember the president of the Z Club of Texas calling my Z32 a couch on wheels (he owned a 240z).
  18. 👣 Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

As usable as 911 back seats. ? I wouldn’t be taking a road-trip in the backseat of a MKIV, but for a run to a restaurant a couple miles away, why not. MKIV probably had more backseat headroom than a 300ZX 2+2.
  19. 👣 Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

I feel the same way. Mashing the go-fast pedal is fun. Manually rowing gears adds to the driving pleasure. Of interesting note, Jason Cammisa feels that the M2 CS is the real successor to the MKIV - power, usable backseat, and manual transmission. Unfortunately, that's 2x the price of a MKV...
  20. New (and old) SupraMKV members say hello!

Yeah, I saw that ZF recommends fluid and filter change at that interval. What’s the official word from Toyota? Dealer service depts tend to be ignorant if their staff and techs aren’t trained on that service interval and service.
