Why do they lock the ecu? What’s it matter to them if we add parts, tune, and blow up our motors?!? Let me do what I want with my car right?

I’ve read the whole post about the 2021 supras and the tuning debacle that the ecu gives. In short, is it true that all 2020 Toyota Supras are easily tuneable? I am looking to buy one very soon and just want clear this up so I can look exclusively for any car that’s a 2020 Supra. thanks all.
