I honestly cannot answer that. It happened to some people and others had no CEL.

There are no issues with the unit, it works fine. There is some wear on one of the connectors, you can see it in the first picture, but it will still click into the connection and works fine. Burger tuning says the JB4 will not throw a CEL, but in my case it did and I posted about it here...
