So I took it for a spin last week and checked temps at various spots in the engine bay near the turbo. These were my readings:
150F - Panel on MST intake facing the turbo
325F - Turbo manifold
265F - Heatshield on opposing side from turbo

I tried digging around for some forum posts on it. I believe someone did testing and found a significant drops in temps under the hood. After a drive, you can pop the hood and feel how hot it is around the intake area.

I've been doing oil level checks periodically over the past few weeks. Always at max level. So it was completely "full" when I replaced.
I put in the 5.28 quart container, plus an additional 1 quart. Did the oil level check after driving for around for awhile. Still at max level.

Did the fix a couple days ago. Looks like I put the holes maybe a half inch too high. Still sounds fine. I also cut my weathertech mat to clear the holes. I'm gonna have to clean it up a bit.
It's funny that I didn't really notice how cheap it looked until I saw a few posts on here lol. You guys make me see flaws that I probably wouldn't have noticed.
