I questioned why they would just release a different color but kudos to Toyota. This concept is the more sophisticated/suave version of the red one. It works so well.
+1
Not to mention Tada san also said the flagship sports coupe will not be a hybrid. Save that for all the higher end Lexus. It's clear as day.
There is also info that Lexus is working on a new engine, a twin turbo V6 which is in dvelopment. There's nothing yet that it will be used for...
There are few benefits besides blowed out hair that a vert has over a targa top. In terms of performance, cost, complexity, weight, it all favors the targa top.
Not to mention it just looks so much cooler and it would look like a SUPRA.
When is the concept supposed to show? These concepts are super expensive to build - and since it is a short lead time I dont see them redoing all the dimensions.
The 2 rear pics are different. The last pic looks like they widened and stretched the rear track, giving it a boxier look and more like the concept they built. I could see the more rounded narrower one being closer to what a production car would look like.
With a partner in BMW and codeveloping a platform I am not giving up on the Supra being able to match the C7's weight. Power is an easy fix. How many of us are gonna keep our cars stock?
What it comes with from the factory is really more about how aggressive they want to be the first year...
Yes it has..
Here is what a BMW board member (Herb Diess) said recently:
He declines to confirm if the Toyota FT-1, displayed in Detroit, is an early version of a future sports-car architecture to be shared with BMW.
“We are working on that. We are making progress,” Diess says of the joint...
Front engine/rear wheel drive is a formula that works 99% of the time. I can't see what the benefit is of going AWD and not sure why the media keeps harping on it. Just because of the 100+K GT-R?
The FT-1/Supra clearly has very little to do with the GT-R in terms of shared architecture or...
That's just a general term to describe the general size and sporty intention of the models that will likely be built off this codeveloped platform. Rumor all along is that this will spawn the BMW Z4 or Z5 so there's likely to be both a sports coupe [supra] and roadster [z4/z5] built from this.
Love how outlets just pull stuff out of thin air to make a story out of it. Under $30k euro = under $37k dollars... LMAO. And no way in hell this is going to get a BMW engine. Why even bother reviving the Supra name if they give it a BMW heart. You might as well calll it the Toyota Z4 then.
Sorry but too much sharing is a prob. I can recognize Fords or Chevys but they don't all look EXACTLY alike... like Lexus for example. They are just way too similar for my tastes.
Cars have not just gotten more boring but modern tech has made them almost impossible to work on (some brands). They are literally less accessible.... try working on a modern bmw or audi - u need to bring it into the dealer just to remove the bumper. Try working under the hood of a current...
Wonder if there will be any cosmetic changes or a race version of the FT1? That would be cool if they used this to show off a few different looks/colors.
