Is it just me or are the numbers not adding up here to others as well. Even given the underestimated power rating of BMW motors, a rated 335 HP BMW engine (even Rear wheel horsepower) should not propel a 3400 lb car to 60 in 4 seconds, and a 7:40 Nurburgring lap. Either Toyota is not providing...
If it has the same engine as the BMW M240i, the math works. The 240i does 0-100 in about 4.2 secs, with 2-300lbs more weight. So, 3.8 with slightly different gearing is plausible. Also, BMW is known for underestimating the bhp of their engines significantly. The M2 engine, for example...
Thank you! I was about to say the same thing. The M240i is virtually as quick as the M2, and if the supra is getting the same engine, with slightly different gearing and a 2-300lb lighter weight than the BMW, 3.8 seconds is more than plausible.
