  1. Sub firing direction

If I were to build a custom sub enclosure, which direction should I place the sub? Forward facing towards the cabin or rear facing towards the back of the car? And let's not forget about the ports. Forward or rear facing? Pros and cons for each direction. Personal experience, etc. etc.
  2. Android Auto Dongles

I was reading through the media player owner's manual yesterday and I came across a section that says the left and right button next to the 1-8 buttons can skip and fast forward and vise versa. I can confirm that the left and right arrow button next to the 8 button does indeed skip and fast...

  6. No mod drop in door and behind seat speakers.

Yep, I've read all the posts and have done experiments of mine for the woofers. It's weird, but I prefer the sound of the woofers with the trim piece in place. It has a more boomy sound. Low frequency sound is not what I'm after at the moment. That's easily fixable with a sub box build or a...
  7. No mod drop in door and behind seat speakers.

Thanks for the reply. I have heard not great things about the bav subs. I'm actually looking at integral drop in subs. I will be getting an actual sub for low frequencies later. But I'm mainly looking for tweeter and the 4 inch speaker replacements that fit my criteria.

Hey all, Anyone have recommendations for drop in speakers for the door and behind the seats? Looking for speakers that have a little more bass to them. I know 4" speakers don't reproduce tremendous amount of bass, but I'm looking for speakers that have a little more than the oem speakers. I...
  9. Internal volume of sub box

Thanks, I will check out resonix. I re-read your post above and you mentioned you removed the boxes. Are you talking about the plastic boxes that the woofers attach to or the whole metal structure? I just want to clear up any confusion of what I'm asking.

  12. Internal volume of sub box

Thanks for the reply Sam B. I can see how the OEM box can be an AP type enclosure due to all of the holes in the sheet metal and being covered with panels that have insulation attached to them. What I want to do is run a bead of body panel adhesive along the body panels to seal any panel to...
  13. Internal volume of sub box

Has anyone calculated the internal volume of the OEM sub box? I know there are holes in the box so let's just say they are not there and pretend it's all sealed up. Also has anyone sealed all the holes? How did that effect bass? Better, worse? The idea that I'm having is to seal all the holes...
