Yeah reflex+, I updated it before installation. I’m away from home atm but I can share the serial number when I’m back later today. Was there a known issue with a batch of reflex boxes or something?
Hey all --
I'm currently Ecutek tuned on an early batch 2020, 14k miles with about 1k on the tune with a very reputable tuner (don't wanna name so people don't incorrectly criticize since the problem seems completely unrelated to the tune and this tuner is AWESOME) on a flexfuel-only Reflex...
Pre-June 2020 ECU that I had to have bench unlocked because my dumb ass took it to a dealer two years ago for a minor issue. Had been on BM3 in the meantime.
The bench unlock flashed a stock cal onto the ECU. My Ecutek tuner is traveling and will be a bit delayed I think on getting me my tune...
Dialed the tune to reduce cold start RPM and disabled all burbles, NOW the Tomei single is perfect for the neighborhood and still rowdy as hell at 2k+ RPM. Best of both worlds, 10/10 would recommend.
Slapped on the Tomei single exit tonight. Not great light in this photo but gives an idea. Looks and sounds incredible… but I will be adjusting my tune to dial out the burbles because they are basically gunshots even with a high flow catted DP. Very happy with this purchase. Last step will be...
I am building a mk4 targeting 1000rwhp on a Xona Rotor single turbo right now. I budgeted it all out a few weeks ago and I’ll be spending right around $35k total to hit 1krwhp. That’s just engine, doesn’t include suspension/brakes/wheels/body etc. but does include a transmission swap from W58 to...
Rearranged the garage to make room next to it, took it out for a little drive today for it to say farewell to single child life.
Picking up my 95 JDM TT Manual at 4:30pm today:drive:
Weekend work finished late last night. I’ll see how it feels for awhile and then decide. Good progress though, and I am very happy with the fitment and finish on the Seibon wing. Would definitely recommend.
I shoulda specified wing and not hood, but I think all these same thoughts apply. I think I’ll run it CF for a few days and if it feels like too much it is super easy to pop off for a few days to run it out for paint.
After a lot of waiting, wheels are finally on. Seibon MB arrives today, debating now on paint match vs. keep the CF look. Worried on white it’ll be too much keeping it CF, but also feels sacrilege to cover up CF. Might mount it that way and run it for a bit at first to see how I feel about it.
Easy choice for me at least, keep the STI, get the GR86 — it’s a totally different car than the other two and is a lot of fun in its own way especially if you keep it naturally aspirated and make it out to the track with it. If you’re not much of a track person yet, it is a fantastic way to get...
Found a Seibon MB spoiler in stock somewhere… ordered today and should arrive Monday. Feels like a pretty lucky break considering how far apart these are making it stateside. Gonna paint match it before mounting it hopefully by end of next week.
Yeah they are SLs — meant to be run with no centers. I might try to adapt and fit some but I actually think it might be tough to get something that matches well enough for my taste.
Thanks y’all, confirmed with BM3 the above steps (stock flash and lock, stock flash no lock, then force flash map) and everything worked great. Still did have to ignore a couple of warnings but flash completed successfully. Not sure what the root cause was but doesn’t matter too much. They were...
Thanks friend! I think you’re probably right, I’ll hold for bm3 advice. But you’ve basically confirmed what I suspect — it is probably something that will be solved by a reflash back to stock. And I’m guessing I’m getting it because my tune is so old and haven’t really touched it in almost two...
I should probably add that it did see the dealer in Jan 2021 a year ago, but only for an oil change (which I was adamant it never be plugged in to anything) and I think the software versions confirm that nothing funny went on unless I’m misunderstanding.
my first thought is that bm3 wants it...
