BMW dealer wouldn’t even tell me if they had the part without a BMW VIN. Good news is my son has an M2 and it is the same part. They had to order and said a week. FCP Euro can get it to me by Thursday if I pay shipping that is 3x the price of the part. Toyota dealer said “we can have it here...
Well F’ me. Figured I’d replace rear diff fluid while I was under the car doing the install as I’ve got 40k miles on the car and have a Daytona track day coming up. Silly me I overtightened the drain plug/temp sensor and snapped it off. Good news is I was able to get the sensor out. Bad news is...
Just received my red anodized brace today. Damn nice piece of kit here! I've paid a lot more for a lot of parts that weren't half as well finished as this thing that most will never see or know is on the car. If you're on the fence about purchase, do it, you won't be disappointed!
Not exactly. It has popped up twice since the sensor replacement. Once when I was sitting still at a stoplight and once in stop/go traffic on the interstate. It makes no sense but it self-clears with the next startup so I ignore it now.
It has never popped in hard driving, including track days...
It was the past Saturday, but some friends and I hit the Open Track Day at The FIRM. Car ran flawlessly for every session including one of nearly 40 minutes in temps about 85 degrees. I do love this car.
Cutting the strap was the only thing that worked when this happened to me. Cut it and pull like there is no tomorrow. Might help to have a friend push down or pull up on the trunk lid while you’re pulling on the strap from lm inside.
I’m down for this… used to do it with some Miata buddies (though I avoid MATG because it is a zoo). So many good roads to explore in that entire area.
For me it would all depend on timing and what my work schedule was like.
Would it be limited to MKv owners or are other marques welcome?
Installed the Bevinsee Jack Pad Pucks. Got them for $79 off ebay. 3 out of 5 on the PITA install-o-meter. Had challenges tightening them down. Once installed though, no issues so far and far easier than using a damned adapter every time.
