Thanks Zack, I appreciate that! Yours will be the first production unit, and a little bit special by request.

It was cool meeting you down at TX2K. Really looking...
Finished building my carbon fiber MST intake box replica. Making some tweaks to the design and hope to have version 2 on the car in the next couple of weeks.
There are some pretty crazy cars out here. Got to Houston today but my gate pass starts tomorrow so posted up at the gas station / subway just down the road from the track and ate my my 6" meatball sub outside while watching some wild machines roll in. Never seen an RWB in person before.
Padded and wrapped the harness bar style brace in Carbon Fiber Leather. Also recess mounted a 1/4" 20 nut in the middle to use as a camera mount. Still need to make some sort of plug to cover the camera mount while not in use.
Started making some rock guards.
I like the look of the ZL1 rock guards, but with the current price of fuel and groceries authentic ZL1 parts simply aren't in the budget. Just gonna have to make my own from whatever is laying around the garage.
This left over infused panel from an earlier...
I'm hoping it won't look taped on with where the seam is going to be.
I lack the ability to make the diffuser completely from CF currently, but there are other options. One is taking a stock bumper, filling in either the left or right exhaust with a plug then do a wet-layup / CF skinning...
Do you think it would look better if the CF in the diffuser flowed into some CF lower spats / side skirt extension / splitter, giving it a more intentional look? Or would a two tone diffuser just simply never look right to you?
My current thinking is to use resin infusion and two layers of 3k CF, so the materials cost isn't too bad. A lot of the cost is from the initial tooling, which is pretty expensive in both time and material. I can offer them unfinished with this being something people might want to paint or...
Thanks for that info. Just one more reason to start looking for a high-flow catted down pipe. Not sure why this car smells so bad to me when other catless cars don't.
Making a full CF replacement of the rear diffuser would require a two part mold and prepreg fabric with an oven larger than I currently have access to. I hope to be able to offer something like that in the near future, but for now my fabrication abilities are limited to two dimensions.
My...
Ahh, that would explain the vortex generators being like they are. I'm guessing they did regular body work to close the hole then skinned the entire thing with CF. Yeah, I don't see that coming out as a commercial product. Starting with a $1k part, then adding a bunch of labor isn't a good...
That does almost sound like an old 2J. Would sound so much better with the crackle tune turned off so could hear the motor.
Have you heard a single exit titanium with a catless downpipe in person?
