I think the market is looking less for a complete bumper replacement than a simpler and much, much less expensive cap or cover for the empty exhaust outlet. Basically, the market needs a cover for the circled part and not a complete rear fascia replacement piece.

This also saves you the trouble of figuring out how your bumper replacement is going to work not just with Tomei (which exits out the left), RK Tunes (which exits out the right), etc. but also any bespoke single exit systems (which could do either, exit at any number of angles, and use any number of muffler options).
I'm surprised there aren't more options for a simple plug that blends in with the bumper. I think the issue is that without some sort of bodywork to blend it in, it's always going to be very obvious. Like somebody forgot to punch out the perforated plastic piece in the factory.

I think my piece will be right in the middle between a plug and a full bumper replacement. It's still early in the concept stage, but I'm leaning towards making the carbon fiber as an overlay for the lower section. Keeping the vortexes makes that possible. Will still want to include something to work as a plug for the hole, but a bit of 3d printing should get that done.

I'm starting with the driver side exit, but there's no reason we can't provide both. I'll need to create two separate molds, but that's no problem if there's interest.

I hear you. I'd be very interested in a simple plug, even if it isn't perfectly seamless, if you go that route. Either way, thank you for doing this.

I'd very much like to go the single route.

Honestly, the single system is superior for flow/scavenging, power potential, and in my opinion, sound.

Listen to the single at the 4:10 mark, sounds a lot like the old JZ Supra! The only trouble is, the single sounds kinda lousy with a catless downpipe, so I likely have to build it custom with an extra resonator or two..

If it's not so presumptuous, I'd like to offer a potential solution that worked for another platform I'm involved with, where single exits are very common for weight and power. Like the Supra, the factory exhaust is dual exit with an integrated valence.

The solution was to create a plug protruding from a plate. Rivets or m4 screws go through the extruded border of the plug so it's secured against the valence. The platform takes advantage of the fact that the valence curves inward like an arched bridge over the exhaust exit, which allows you to put fasteners through arch and the plug without anyone seeing them on the exterior.

My comment is more a question.. why?

:coffee:
Why what? Why go with a single exit exhaust? Or why sell this bumper cover?

If it’s the former, some people like the look or the sound of a single more than a dual. Whatever the reason, the fact is there are many single exit exhausts on the market, and they sell well.

If it’s the latter, well that’s easy. Single exit exhausts look stupid with a dual exit bumper. I think this option looks great.

Would love to see this come out. I believe your idea is quite similar to the cover on the 2jz swapped mk v here

This is pretty much exactly what I am wanting to do. Do you know if they made this one commercially available?

I wish, it’s a custom piece done with the help of another company (forgot the name). Under his posts there a decent amount of owners curious about the piece as well, so there’s definitely a market for it. We’re just waiting for someone to release it to the public

If this comes out you can take my money...however the single plug is pretty good solution too since it can be reversible.
The current plan is to use both a plug and a CF cover mounted with 3M tape so this should be completely reversible as well.

This is all great to hear. I'll be pulling my bumper off to start molding this week and will keep everybody updated on progress.

Thanks for this. I'm planning on using a plug as well so this is handy.
