What burns me is that this person doesn't have no money, I mean they bought a $45K car, and that wing is well installed as well as wired pretty cleanly so it obviously costs something to do that as well. You burned all that money why? On that?
At least when someone dusts his silly ass at a...
I think the greater sin is 3.0 badging (????) on what is probably 2.0. Just because the engine and running gear is BMW doesn’t mean we need to adopt badge fakery from the BMW community.
It’s a stupid dumb expensive set, you can definitely put together a set of tools for the car much easier and have it be impact rated too, but i’ts more for novelty of it. I have tools I actually trust to work on my car so this was a vanity purchase
My life in one word. Apparently, setting my quiet hours and office hours means nothing. Every morning I ask the question of who the hell sends emails at 1AM? You don’t have the excuse of being in a different time zone, I know where you live!
No worries, just a friendly early morning debate on airflow. Not much else to do while reading through last nights emails and Slacks. I know the problem of the previous engines so was already planning on making sure I didn’t get hit with that again (I had a M440i and the pipe split down the...
I mean in that the stock pipe is restrictive as hell and a common BMW failure point anyway. Any tiny gains from flow on the intake side are strangled in the stock pipe if it isn’t leaking out anyway. Since boost is a measure of restriction and not airflow itself, it technically should also help...
Personally I like it, big turbo noises with a much different tone compared to aluminum or stainless steel intake pipes. Does it make more power? Probably not, but until I replace the charge pipe its all moot anyway but holy crap it looks good. One of the best two intakes for the Supra (GruppeM...
Got some small goodies for the car. Next up, Active Autowerke downpipe and FTP charge pipe. Will be powder coating the Cusco harness bar to match the Tanabe front strut braces.
Got it from Speed Industry, the install was a solid 6/10 due to the instructions being pretty crap. I got it done in 2hrs, but there was a lot of cursing from struggling with the tight engine bay and redoing things in the correct (read: following the instructions is actually a mistake, do what...
Got some goodies to install (Tanabe front strut brace, HKS full carbon intake Blackline dress up bits, did a full detail plus steam cleaning of the engine bay and wheel wells, then met up with my buddy Matt in his new to him Turbo S to go get hot pot in Bellevue.
Hello from Washington State. Absolute Zero CF bought in Jan 22 at Larson Toyota in Tacoma. I promised my wife I would leave the exhaust stock, but everything else is fair game. Ordered the full HKS carbon intake, Cusco rear power brace, underbody rear brace and Tanabe front strut brace.
Exactly, buying a Lamborghini is objectively stupid. Still absolutely will do it when I have the chance.
I did the same thing when my wife and I moved to Seattle, we rented until we figured out exactly where we wanted to be and life circumstances forced our hand.
See part about index funds ;)...
But that’s not really the rent treadmill then? You’re renting because you want to and can fiscally rationalize that decision based on other factors, not to mention if the costs of renting ever go up too much you’re not SOL. I guess my view is pretty west coast biased because here in the Seattle...
If you want a sound financial decision, buy a house, or invest in an index fund. When it comes to cars, just have a dollar amount you won’t go over, and answer some key questions, can I cover monthly payment? Is the financing sane? Do I want the car? Can my money better be served somewhere else...
