  1. Toyota Supra rumored to be offered with 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder base model

Would you rather like to have LESS options to choose from? Porsche Cayman is already a 4 cylinder (with no 6-cyl option), hell even Mustangs have turbo 4 engines, it doesn`t mean that you have to buy that version. Making a cheaper version will help to make the car profitable and increase...
  2. Latest 2020 Supra Interior Spy Pics!

Cool interior shots. Seating position is very low. Awesome. Round steering wheel, none of that D-shaped nonsense thank god. Seats do look pretty comfortable, side bolsters similar to those of base cayman / 911 seats. For real track use, the transmission tunnel and the door will hold you in...
  3. The Toyota Supra Owner's Club Event featuring Tetsuya Tada & the A90 (photos/videos)

A90 / A70 / A80 / A60 / A40 I“ll probably have to put my flame suit on here, but I“m not really a hardcore fan of any of the previous Supras. A90 is interesting to me because they have focused on handling as their n.1 priority on development. It will be competitive or outhandle Porsche mid...
  4. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

ā€œI can’t disclose specific figures, but the output of this engine is on a par with that which we have with the F-Series from Lexus,ā€ Tada said. When he says "output" he could be speaking about horsepower. I wonder why Autocar assumes he means torque. F-series = 467hp. Sounds far fetched but...
  5. 2020 Supra prototype at Goodwood Festival of Speed (photos/videos)

Nice burnouts by the Lexus team :headbang:
  6. 2020 Supra prototype at Goodwood Festival of Speed (photos/videos)

Formula 1 uses "plain rotors" too. Just like most true race cars. Don“t get too held up on the bling of drilled rotors. Additionally, they are cheaper to replace, which is a big plus for people that will actually track this car. F1 brakes: Since you“re a BMW M4 owner, you“ll be glad to...
  7. 2020 Supra prototype at Goodwood Festival of Speed (photos/videos)

Radar / adaptive cruise control sensors.
  8. Latest 2020 Supra Interior Spy Pics!

I“ll hold judgement until I see the production version of the dashboard and interior. Hard to say much with 80% of it covered. As a fan of analogue gauges, I hope Toyota“s implementation of the full digital display is a good one.
  9. 2020 Supra prototype at Goodwood Festival of Speed (photos/videos)

Sounds great. Big brakes. Big exhaust piping. Nice tire setup. Iron block and 3100lbs almost 100% confirmed. Supra@Goodwood has already exceeded my expectations. I`m optimistic about the final performance.
  10. 2020 Supra prototype at Goodwood Festival of Speed (photos/videos)

Same camo, no new specs. As expected really. This round was driven by Tada waving to the crowd, maybe with test driver Herwig Daenens at the wheels it shows some real speed. Is the sound from the vids actually the Supra engine sound? It looks completely out of sync (and very loud) at some...
  11. 2020 Toyota Supra A90 prototype will debut and run at Goodwood Festival of Speed this week!

They will definetly drive it: "The road-going prototype will be on Hill duties throughout the event with chief engineer Tetsuya Tada and who Toyota calls ā€˜Master Driver’ Herwig Daenens at the wheel. The car will be wearing a red black and white disguise intended to pay homage to the recent win."
  12. New (Unconfirmed) Details and Specifications of US-Spec MKV Supra:

Interesting. That ZF Guideline is very close to final BMW horsepower specifications, so it should be pretty close for the Supra too. As for using a "regular" B58, that just makes a lot of sense for cost savings, although A70TTR has pointed in a different direction (BMW iron block with a Toyota...
  13. Interviews with Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada

It will probably use the BMW version called "Active M differential", but with Toyota programming / tuning. Current supplied to an electric-motor connected to a reduction gear directly rotates the cam gear of a unidirectional ball-ramp mechanism This rotational torque causes the balls...
  14. Toyota Supra Interior Looking More Production in Latest Sighting

Yay!! Proper seats! They probably took a hint from Cayman GT4. I think it“s unlikely that those wll be the "standard" seats, maybe a factory option? WANT.
  15. New (Unconfirmed) Details and Specifications of US-Spec MKV Supra:

Yup, surprised by the level of secrecy they have been able to maintain regarding this project. What we know: it will have 4 wheels. Weight, engine, horsepower, gearbox, aero, brakes, wheels, hybrid system, price, it“s all up in the air at this point.
  16. 3rd gen G29 BMW Z4 (2019-202X)

Love to hear from a BMW engineer that Z4 is faster than M2 at the track. From what we know, Supra will be lighter, with a more track-focused suspension, this is a good sign.
  17. Toyota confirmed 3 sports car lineup: Toyota exec wants to bring back Celica, MR2

I agree they can be very fast, but never quite as much fun to drive as RWD.
  18. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

Good catch. It looks like they will be sticking to a semi-trailing arm design, which is what they have used for ages. If it ain`t broke don`t fix it. M3 F80: M2 suspension diagram from BMW
  19. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

I do love the E46 M3 for street driving and general hooning, but it just falls apart at the track. E92 is somewhat similar. F80 is much more capable, but pretty boring and disconnected. E30 is fun but slow, and absurdly overpriced. M cars are all flawed one way or another, certainly not...
