The FT1 looking so good didn't help things :) As soon as it came out everyone wanted it, which made the wait seem so much longer. 2-3 years from initial design concept to production car really isn't a crazy long time. The new NSX was announced in 2011, concept was shown in 2012, and is just...
1400kg would mean about a 200 pound weight drop. Might be hard for Nissan to achieve that without making the car much smaller or going with some exotic material. Don't know if Nissan has the stomach to go with exotic materials but would be nice to see them downsize the car to classic Z car size.
What's funny is all this talk about a possible exotic construction chassis but then there's rumors of a hybrid version. So you go to extremes to lose weight int he body, only to gain it back in the power plant. :banghead: It'll be the gasoline-only Supra version for me thank you very much.
Beautiful car and great value for its price, but I'm disappointed by its weight. This day in age no 'supercar' level car should be as heavy as the new NSX. But that's the downside to hybrid power plant. No way getting around the weight of batteries!
I don't think so. The two cars aren't meant to be in the same price segment or performance level and far enough apart that they can sell both under the same brand no problem. I doubt you'll find many cross shoppers between the two. If anything the moving of FR-S to under Toyota brand might make...
Post everything related to the BMW version here!
Finally the Z4 prototype was spotted in testing

True. Hard to keep in mind that it's only been 2 years since the surprise debut of the FT-1 Concept. I guess when you want something so badly it makes the wait seem even longer than reality.
I been seeing rumors a while back about how the next Nissan Z car (Z35 platform) might be moving upmarket to complete with the higher priced sports coupes like the BMW M4. Seems this might be even more true now that the Infiniti Q60's V6 twin turbo engine has been revealed, with as much as...
wtf is BMW thinking with all that tacked on looking stuff. I'm sure it's all functional, but please Toyota come out with a Supra based closely on the FT-1 and show the BMW designers how functional derived styling can still look nice and integrated.
Why only 3.9 seconds 0-60 if it has 510hp and is 3400 pounds? Would have expected it to be even faster. Besides the angry birds kind of front end, the rest of it I like a lot. Active aero and torque vectoring diff sound great.
