The "H" word rears its ugly head again. The leading sentence mentions "four-wheel-drive hybrids" but the article doesn't talk about that at all. Wish they would give more information on that if they're gonna claim that the car is going to be AWD and hybrid. :bonk:
The RC-F is not getting rave reviews against its direct competition lately :(
I hate benchracing and have never driven one personally but it'd be nice to see it get better press because I really like its styling and the fact that it stayed V8 NA.
When do you think we will finally see BMW's concept? The 2015 Geneva Auto Show? Or perhaps the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show? Or maybe another auto show altogether.
Geneva: March 5-15

Frankfurt: September 17-27

+1 would be interesting to actually know how much particular specs, if any, CALTY was told to build around for the concept FT-1. Knowing this would give us more insight on what to expect from production Supra.
Or, maybe they basically took a MKIV Supra and just gave it their modern...
Really hope this doesn't affect the decision whether to make the Supra or not. Wish they'd just give us confirmation already or at least an update :banghead:
I'd be shocked if it was the same length as the 86. I just don't see that happening. I think it'll be at least as long as the MKIV, which I'd be OK with.
If it really gets the BMW inline 6 it would probably be the all new B58 engine which will replace the N55 which has been used for years now.
The switchover is supposed to happen this Summer --- http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1081449
If they don't show something at TAS they better show something at Tokyo Motor Show later in the year, or else it's gonna be another 2 years until the next one :(
Had no idea until reading this too.
The FR-S concept was just stunning, so Five Axis now has a great recent track record when it comes to putting together gorgeous Toyota concepts.
Couldnt agree more!! Please give us a fresh bold clean sheet design that doesn't have forced corporate styling cues.
I want a design where if you took the badge off the car you couldn't guess what brand it is. Which is what the FT-1 concept does.
Of course performance and mechanicals are the most important thing, but styling sells cars to buyers on emotion. Something needed when spending this much money on a car.
That would suck. Another thing that would be automated and completely de-personalized in this world.
I welcome automated driving for use in bumper-to-bumper type commuting traffic and for certain safety features like automated braking to avoid collisions or backing up into someone...
Just read the other thread about this. Can yo imagine if they went full carbon fiber body. The weight savings could be 600-700 pounds?? That's why I'm psyched for when they announce what the Supra's weight and size will be.
Even the standard C7 is real tempting. It's out performing everything at its price range and segment and doing it while looking good and with a better interior than ever.
I'd get the Z06 in coupe form tho - it's even more better looking.
