Guys. I think I'm a little misunderstood, I really dislike heavy muscle cars. I've always loved light weight RWD sports cars. Hell I owned 2 BRZ's and a STI!
My only beef is paying 55k for a small TOYOTA. I get its performance, ethos and that its gunning for Cayman territory. I feel like...
Haha you're just like me then! I always look at the tire brand/model and width given from the manufacturer and Toyota is not the kind of manufacturer that puts a ton of tire width on their cars.
Yes, well said indeed @Guff. Let me ask a more dynamic question, @A70TTR this is directed at you as well.
As far as what you know and what you have experienced, whether it may be insider access or general knowledge from the forum. Pretend this car was not dubbed the Supra.
Do you believe that...
Not interested in buying it new, the v6 supercharged options perform great. Even a 350 HP a 370Z Nismo tops out at 45k weighing 3393 lbs. A supra with less HP and a curb weight of roughly 400 lbs less priced at 10-12k more? Come on bro.
@Guff would you buy it at 55k-58k at 340 HP if it offered you a great drivers feeling? Or would you feel like you're probably not getting the best deal? Especially if you could hop into a well package low mileage used Porsche 911 or Cayman for that price.
I think a small part of me would feel...
I would loved to see more powerful and track ready version to the 86/BRZ that could meet in the middle with regards to pricing. I had a BRZ and it was just awesome. However the lack of support/model offerings from Subaru and Toyota left me wanting more. You can tack on lip kits and change the...
$55k for 340 HP? Even at 2900 lbs, sorry man. Great balance or not, even though I can afford it, that is just not going to get it done for me.
Hopefully 55k is the GRMN price and hopefully the GRMN version is putting out higher HP and overall a generous track like package to justify that price...
Lol, you've got a TON of confidence in Toyota, I've learned to treat Toyota projects like a distant Father. Low expectations, because they will almost always disappoint. At least that's how I felt when the 86 was released.
Do you think you can add paint? Red or Blue? Side note" Why does everyone love the TE37's so much, they're so plain Jane to me. Overly simple and over priced.
We don't know the inner workings of Lexus and Toyota, but from the outside looking in, its amazing that they would rather partner with BMW then Lexus to find the powertrain for this car. Let alone building a halo car themselves.
Guess we will all just have to wonder what could have been.
But...
I have two friends that own it, I've also had my hands on them for an extensive amount of time. They haven't had any issues. I may be a little biased, as the only one I've ever played with was the coupe, F-Type R.
My eyes or on the coupe V8 or coupe S/C V6, which can be had in a manual for...
lol, if you minus the options that Guff added we're @ $45,800. I guess I'm ok with that. Now if Guff is suggesting $55k lol then no. Jaguar F-type here I come.
Remember, the Z4 isn't being tuned by the M division last I checked, if it were I doubt the SPX would have beat it so badly on SPA nor would they have needed Tada's input.
I guess we are all guilty of high expectations for this car, including myself. I want to really LIKE this car, so yes there are few things I'm unhappy with, if you want to be completely happy its going to cost you. Everything hasn't been revealed, so I will stay optimistic.
At the very least...
