I was able to do that with the canbus feature from the jb4. Once I switched to mikeytune I couldn’t. I would have to ask my tuner if that’s possible
That intake cone is not recommended for supras. I had the same one and my tuner told me to take it off ASAP a soon as he tuned me. It is not a proper intake and stock air box is not a proper heat sheild for it. I was sucking in way to much heat and actually loosing power. He told me I was better...
The exhaust sounds amazing. Just have to wait a minute or two for it to warm up and the flap will open (in sport mode). I’m sure the straight pipe exhaust is much louder. There’s a video on YouTube on the afe power channel for reference
UPDATE: I fixed the verus heat shield issue. I simply drilled new holes exactly one inch apart on the intake heat shield to align the shield to fit away from the verus shield. Easy fix if you plan on purchasing a heat shield from verus or already have one. Here are some pics
To my understanding it’s supposed to block excess heat around the turbo area
its definitely not meant to be compatible. But if You don’t mind the turbo shield rubbing with the intake shield then you’re ok. It’ll just be a very tight fit
Full afe power bolt ons!;) fitment is perfect!
P.s. will not fit with verus turbo heat shield. Unless you do it like me and make it somehow work. Fitment will be tight if you Leave verus shield on.
That’s so wierd. I just received mine today. Spoke to a rep as well. I ask if it was in stock and he said yes. I wasn’t originally going with this intake due to not liking the design and also not being aware of strut brace compatibility ( which it is now confirmed to fit) but since I am tuning...
Im gonna have to pass on this intake. Unfortunately to me this intake looks pretty bad in pics that I’ve seen installed and it’s not even confirmed yet if this fits with the Cusco strut brace. So far the injen Evolution intake is looking better. Good Style and has a slot for the brace too.
Same here. Just for that I might pass. Eventuri has a slot for the brace but is a couple hundred more expensive. Other than that it looks like the injen intake has a spot for it for those that are ok with a cheaper intake. And it’s available now. Afe power releases theirs this month but not sure...
Yes! So it’s actually not that bad to install. I will say having no instructions doesn’t help lol. But I do recommend having an extra pair of hands helping you. The installation is pretty much up to your preference. There’s no wrong way as long as it’s even. I suggest using the oem fins for...
I recently had a jb4 on my mk5. But I had FBO e50 blend on map 5. According to a tuner he estimated I was pushing 480ish Hp and 550 tq.
with no e85 and no mods on map 1 or 2 you can expect a 50 hp gain tq not so sure. Regardless it’s not recommended to go passed map 2 without mods
