Performance, love your enthusiasm because you really want this car to be awesome and disappointed about the BMW collab despite being told how necessary it was but
though, I do want to see what Toyota will personally say to convince the public who is 99 percent done with the car as they think...
On that note, are you interested to see how the dealerships are going to pitch this car, run circles to convince people it isn't a Z4 or another BRZ86er?
Okay, so with this in mind...how much we talking if BMW or Toyota crafted this car by themselves? They are going to sell between 45-70k range but all this talk suggested they would have been GTR/NSX hunting and for the few badge whores at BMW, it wouldn't be purchased, even if it was better car...
Okay,
Can we get a 2nd gen 86 with some changes so people would buy the 86 cause it is cheaper and while not the same car, won't feel like they have to shell out big bucks unless they want that leisure?
86 is still a fun car all around.
They could just do a I6 base and a I6 fully loaded, ie safety features, suspension and tires. That would be 5-7k in pricing difference but wouldn't make sense. Unless it's for the old 40 year old buyers who want a cool looking GT, the tuners would feast on the I6 base.
Prolly.
Unless you meant the legit 86 with power and such being the 4 cylinder and around the same price. But I'll let someone else who knows what you meant than guess.
I am not against BMW parts since I think BMW has a rich history of making performance cars first. unfortunately, it was at the expense of having it over a long time without doing due diligence that it wouldn't fall apart.
But if the new engine is actually the S58 developed and engineered by...
Wow, wouldn't that mean Bmw's incoming M lineup will be BEEFY if they used the I6 engine helped by Toyota to add even more power and be a car that won't drop off the face of the earth with electrical gremlins? Maybe there's more to the partnership that we don't know.
As I've said earlier. either Toyota is afraid of what they are making by not releasing specs to delay disappointment, or they are still working on items that they hope gets completed on time so they can say, YES! We've made the ultimate vehicle at this price point and wow the public and tuners
See how long it took for Toyota USA to give us a Toyota 86 GT or a GT black and the TRD. No GRMN version and the works that was around since 2016 or 15 if I recall.
While 86 doesn't move units, it makes me wonder if this would be just a car with low trims to meet profits and the occasional GRMN...
Guess we have to wait and see. I was just bringing up the idea that people would find something to nitpick. either Toyota is afraid of what they had gotten themselves into by not releasing a single lick of information after all these years, or they are ready to do a massive pr stunt and show...
