I keep away from these "manuals vs the world" discussion because they really are as pleasant as a lobotomy but, me being me, I just can't keep my mouth shut.
Also, as comrade Stalin used to say: "It is easier to kill than to convince" so I truly understand that there is no convincing what is...
So I'm tipping blue as a hero colour, transaxle and a kerb mass of 1280kg - so with the 75kg driver and 90% as per some EU rules that would be approx. 1400kg..
Unveiling race car first - they won't have to detail power outputs for the production cars since that's still probably being worked on.
Other thing is interior won't be unveiled either - that's stringing us along.
We should start taking bets on what the hero colour will be, for the production cars.
What's the chance this car will be a transaxle transmission equipped?
There has to be a reason why those rear vents are there, it's not for looks alone.
Then that could be excusable why only auto is available, since manual linkages for transaxle would probably suck.
If it's auto only they will easily lose 1/3 of possible future sales. With it only being a 2 seater that's another 1/3 sales gone.
I'm not really fussed with the power claim from that mag but I'm losing hope.
Looks like I'll be shopping for a manual M2 aswell.
Could be onto something. Can't see this drawing too many parallels to the Supra for they Toyota marketing peeps to milk.
TBH, I am more or less just an observer now because this project is not delivering what I expected it would - no manual, no 2+2 being massive things for me.
It's turning into...
Here pretty much goes 80% of their market - guys/gals in their late 30's and 40's that more often then not would use this as a daily, and drive kids to school sometimes. TMC sometime forgets that these people are the ones with the money.
Then I love listening to car companies how sports cars re...
To be honest, looking at those Ring videos, where Supra prototype is running around with a pair of 991 GT3s I would say this Toyota will be quite a beast.
Appears to be a meat in the sandwich between the two 991 GT3's, although the first GT3 was surprisingly quite as opposed to the other GT3 behind the Supra. That one had a really nice downshift noise and it even sounded manual like, sounded like a proper heel-and-toe. Could be the new 991.2 GT3 then.
Got a 2015 86 and super happy with it. I'll probably do the same when I get my MKV, when the hype dies down I'll jump on board. I personally hate when you get all sorts of people pointing at your car or taking pics while you sit in traffic just so they can post a pic in the spotted forum thread.
I just don't understand how can AM just launch this unreal looking Vantage yet TMC is mucking around with this Supra for what seems like eternity and with the on-sale date nowhere near.
Can't see myself buy MKV if its less spacious then the 86. 86 does a great job carrying 4 adults, or snowboard or even an MTB with the rear seat folded.
1000bhp on stock internals.....I've heard this comment "1000bhp on stock internals" so many times but let's set the record straight - greatest majority of these "on stock internals" cars are pushing 450-480 bhp. Anything beyond that is a grenade waiting to go off. Anybody building a car in the...
Considering a very popular size that a modified Skyline GT-R is 265/35R18 then 275 width is well and truly an overkill for some 280-300bhp car. I mean, these usually modified GT-Rs run 400-500bhp and 265s are a perfect match, and we also speak of 1990's tech.
275s - I'd expect 400bhp minimum for...
