Looks like all the driver’s controls are high up and right next to the shifter, screen and drive mode selector, and the passenger’s controls are all the way down. Really a smart design actually.
What the C8 makes plain and bare to me is that Toyota was most concerned about making money with the Supra. They made a huge stink about needing to go to BMW to make a sports car affordable, and we were left with a car that doesn’t have anything particularly special. If they needed to split...
Chevrolet just made a brand new mid engined platform with a V8 engine and a bespoke dual-clutch gearbox for under $60k and unveiled it with a fully functioning website with dealer ordering and online reservations available TODAY. I'm sorry... but this really puts the Supra launch to shame.
Honestly I felt like 40 dealers in 4 states was enough haha :dunno: At the end of the day it's just a car and while I have time to drive to other states for a car before I move, I won't after I move.
Thank you. Hoping to get ahead of the depreciation with the deals going on now or on a secondhand car :headbang:
Who knows, maybe Longo or one of the other dealers will call and tell me they have a Supra for me in the next few weeks
I knew back in January I would be moving back to California in August so I contacted Longo first, and then dealers in the San Diego, Los Angeles, Louisville, Nashville and Indiana regions a little later when I found out a) that release date was sometime in July and b) where I was on the Longo...
I've looked in a total of four states and nearly 40 dealers now. Toyota can easily place penalties on dealers that do markups. Toyota could also easily tell the dealers how I can go about ordering one in my spec after the Launch, like they have with every other country. They have done neither...
Laura is also helping me out. I feel bad for her as I have been bombarding her but she really can't help with no info from Toyota USA. As far as I know, Longo is the only dealer in town who's doing MSRP.
Really wish Toyota had told the dealers to stick to MSRP because, as I've said before, 10...
And then they tell you that their Launch Editions are either pre-sold or going for $20k over MSRP, or that they don't know how to order your desired configuration ;)
The depreciation is real and the only reason I would consider one now, as a second hand. As far as the reliability, also a real concern. I've been lurking on the Giulia forums and it seems like the disaster models are the exception, not the rule, and they have been getting better and better with...
As buying a Supra has proven to be more and more of a hassle, my attention has started to wander to another car that had my attention a few years ago but I never got the chance to experience: The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. 4 door, 5 seats, Ferrari-derived 505hp turbocharged V6 engine, 0-60...
From what I heard it will be similar to the Launch... launch for larger dealers- they will get allocated a random assortment of cars for delivery late August.
For smaller dealers they will take orders and a deposit for delivery 8-10 weeks from order date.
I like that it looks and sounds like a slightly angrier version of the stock exhaust. I'm sure it ups the ante on the Euro exhaust but wonder how close it is to the US exhaust.
