Another manual owner chiming in with no issues to date. I've driven both the auto and the manual and would recommend going with your gut - you'll get what you expect from both transmission choices
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought this. On the test drive I thought I'd need to ditch the boots but it's really been a non-issue issue since.
We have the same wheels but we get the "2.0" 18's on our GT grade, and 19's on our GTS grade. They're both B58s but the GTS also gets the JBL...
The supra is designed as a sports car, and has the agility and arguably the edginess to match. The M2 is a hotted up luxury sedan, and is more refined and stable for it. None of that is particularly surprising to me, but whether that makes one better or worse is surely a matter of preference?
Fwiw, it looks like it was only affecting cars produced between Jan & Mar 2023, so you might not be affected. Probably worth checking with your dealer though
I'm not sure how many cars its affecting, but with 2023 production being lower than prior years and a decent percentage of them being equipped with manuals, I think it might just be a small scale recall. For example in Australia it's affecting one car...
It's the same in the '23, I tested mine when I saw the vid. Pretty lame.
The stock exhaust is pretty quiet from the cabin imo - still sounds alright but its mostly the active sound design making the noise
It took a while before I could feel the difference between normal/sport suspension...
Personally I wouldn't upgrade a clutch until I needed to. Sometimes there are tradeoffs to livability with aftermarket clutches.
Unless you're planning on making 750HP right now, why not keep the stock clutch until it starts slipping or needs replacement? Even if that's only a year from now...
Honestly haven't looked since taking delivery of it. Spending most of my car related spare time gingerly trying to get through the break-in period ?
I didn't look too close when the dealer showed off all the bits, but is there not a pick in the fuse box like this? -
They're not wrong about the MT wanting to get rowdy. I'm still in my break-in period and I stay out of sport mode for that reason. Not ripping through first and second takes more restraint than I was expecting ?
So I've had an update from my dealer and it's looking like I may have the car within the next month-ish ?
I'm getting a bit more serious about lining up the essentials now. Do any of you guys have any recommendations on insurer? I've noticed a couple of the cheapo insurers won't cover it.
Any...
I saw one of the reviews mention that taking off in 2nd is doable? Do you reckon that's a realistic option or would you need to slip the clutch too much?
I think our cars are following a similar schedule. Fwiw, I asked my dealer for a guesstimate on when it will be delivered and they said September. I'm hoping that's conservative, but missing the worst of the winter weather might be a blessing in disguise :D
Manual for fun, auto for fast imo.
I find a manual to be a lot more rewarding when driving at street speeds. Maybe it's because all of my performance cars have been manuals, but I don't feel like I'm doing much when I drive an auto. The supra is already fast enough for me to not worry about a...
We must be in the same batch, as I got my email mid week as well. Any idea how long people are waiting between production and delivery? I think I recall my dealer estimating 2-3 months
