Well I received my spacers 12.5mm ECS and 15mm Turner spacers today from ECS...
And the fitment of both spacers were perfect! Turns out ECS posted wrong info regarding Turner spacers and they are indeed 66.6 CB with 5x112 bolts!
Pics to follow....
The OE subwoofer setup is not a sealed system...unfortunately they chose to put a narrow panel in front of the exhaust ports!!
Under side of subwoofer...
OE subwoofer is actually ported...
The lining I used in the enclosures was 1" speaker batting...
I spent a fair amount of time over the past few weeks thinking about how to improve the Supra's subwoofers, which we all know by now, were not designed properly and as a result have issues when it comes to both vibrational noise and lower bass quality...What I discovered after implementing the...
Yes, stock subs....Here is a link below to what I did awhile back which made a huge difference ...I'm extremely pleased with the results...Bass response is noticeably lower and punchier and vibrational noise is gone...I can now listen to the sound system at 3/4 volume and the bass kicks ass...
That's good to hear...but for many bench flashing is not desirable...
So when do you think the newer ECU updated Supras will be able to be flashed insitu without having to be bench flash ECUs???
Personally, warranties have never really been a concern of mine when tuning my cars...But having to pull the ECU and send off tuner is a hassle...
But yeah, tuners will find out a way to get in regardless, it's just a matter of time...Currently, 2020 that have has factory update flash done...
exactly...
An issue that Tuners will be faced with once the 2021 is released is that Toyota now locks the ECU...They also do this now moving forward with any ECU updates the 2020 gets as well...
yup...exactly...
As Justin (twisted tuning) mentioned it's just increasing boost (reducing taper) in the upper power band ...
I think we'll see this once the 2021 is released and tuners start running side by side dyno baseline tests...
:agree:
Below 4500~5000 rpm there is basically no difference in performance (see torque specs) between 2020 and 2021...Clearly all the hp increase is in the upper powerband....
Mazda did this a few years ago with the MX-5 about 2 years after release...They basically re-tuned the engine and extended the rev limit and then claimed improved engine performance...naturally MX-5 owners were upset too...
All marketing hype...
I believe ECS owns Turner and they both share the same sites....
I don't think you'll have issues with ECS spacers...Others have ordered and installed ECS with no issues...
It's the Turner spacers that are in question...
I decided to do my own investigation just to make sure that my order I currently have being sent by ECS has the correct spacer kit and not rely on what they told me today...
The ECS 12.5 mm are the correct size bolts (5x112) and bore 66.6...I found this out by going to Turner site where they do...
