ACT came out with a clutch for TJ Hunt when he got his manual MKV he drifted for a quick minute before he sold it. I haven’t heard anything from ACT about one being available to the public. I wonder why.
Here is a good question maybe we can get a poll up: Knowing now how hard it is to find an aftermarket clutch to push more power, do you regret buying a 6MT instead of an automatic (easier to push power)?
My local shop told me to stay away from them. That they’ve had issues with past clients on the MKV. Then you have people on YouTube putting on Clutchmasters and they seem happy. I’m not even sure what to believe anymore.
I fear there might never be a good choice or excellent support for an aftermarket clutch with the amount of MKV’s made and sold. I’m wondering if clutch manufacturers just don’t see it as profitable therefore don’t invest any money into developing a good aftermarket clutch.
I totally agree with you. The funny thing is people will still find a way to complain. That’s it’s not as affordable as a GR 86, why this or that, etc
I was driving home today on the highway from a crazy day at the office and I couldn’t help but realize how fun this platform is to drive. You should get plenty of smiles per gallon.
Not an ECU flash type issue with a dealership. I have never had any issues with my dealership nor have I heard of anyone having issues over BimmerCode.
I have no faith in the kids growing up wanting to learn manual let alone care about cars or be an enthusiast. The car enthusiast is a dying breed. Speaking for myself, my MKV is a business expense so I can have additional write offs on my taxes. I didn’t get one in the hopes it will one day...
I appreciate your feedback having the personal experience. I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know why but recently I’ve been liking the sound of the Mustangs and even Camaros in my area with their sweet sounding exhausts. I’ve never owned either a mustang or camaro and have recently wondered what those...
I’m right there with you. Even thinking of trading in the wife’s family suv before the MKV. There is no greater feeling than driving to or from work and cruising solo in my car to my thoughts. A man just wants peace and this car helps.
I called Spec and two reps gave me two different answers. My local shop told me to call Spec because they always recommend their clutches and the first rep told me yes when I am ready to submit the order. When I followed up on the email, the new rep told me that they don't make an A90 (Z4)...
