I know, it’s a little too plain and boring right? :p
Im just jealous because I don’t have the free time to clean a black car every half hour.
I ordered black then chickened out and changed to ice grey
I think getting hate just goes with the territory if you choose to own a MkV. You’ve got to have thick skin for sure.
Luckily, owning an FK8 I’m used to hearing about how my car is “rice” “fugly” and “fake”. (All online comments though and never in person)
Regardless of the hate it’s a great...
Not sure what the news is like over with you guys in the US but here in the UK they’re suggesting the first sanctions will include ceasing all trade with Russian businesses in GBP and USD. I don’t even have my supra yet so not an immediate concern for me BUT I’d be very wary of sending anything...
How does everyone find brake pedal feel? That’s my biggest worry about when I change from my FK8 which has superb pedal feel.
That’s if they ever get to building my damn supra! My order is “still being processed” with no sign of build starting yet 2.5 months on from placing my order:(
I’m the most underwhelming customer to sell to ever. When I bought my FK8 I instructed the garage not to wash it or prep it in any way other than the PDI obviously. It was all dirty from transport and they said they’ve never let a car go out like that, ever!
I’ll be stating the same for this...
I find it crazy how someone here who ordered December is being told Apr/May and then someone ordering January is being told October.
I guess the main reason for this is because the dealers don’t know a great deal more than us.
So many factors at play. Hopefully the truth is somewhere in...
Anybody else using the MyT app? I keep checking mine and still no sign of any start in the build process just yet. Hopefully one of these days It will say “build in progress” and it will start to get real. It’s about 2 months since order now and it’s dragging!
I wonder what just a straight through pipe post OPF would be like. Years ago a back box was mainly there as a silencer and maybe for back pressure but as a person who has a very limited understanding of the dark arts of exhaust systems I do wonder if the exhaust is already quiet and it’s full of...
Looks like this is the only option I have to even remotely keep within the law although some are now saying that even noise they are trying to regulate by recording the db from factory.
We do yes. I’ve done quite a bit of research on this and it seems to me like the days of being able to upgrade to a freer flowing exhaust are over. Before OPF’s were around you could still add power and tone with a cat back system and not affect MOT.
Now these things are fitted it looks as...
I think I may have the answer to my own question. These:
https://www.leib-engineering.de/en/leib-opf-deleter/leib-opf-deleter-bmw-z4-m40i-g29
I’m guessing this opens the way to fitting a suitable cat back system if I want to preserve the original rather than gutting it.
Would still be useful...
Had anyone in the UK deleted them successfully and if so how did you do it?
Basically one of the main things I keep reading about the newer models is how much more muted they sound since they started coming out the factory with these and I’d be interested to know if people have done anything to...
Definitely agree with this. I live in a pretty modest house and do have to concur that I’d probably live in a much bigger place in a nicer area by now were it not for the thousands I’ve spent on cars.
I think it was you that said we could be dead tomorrow. There has to be a middle ground...
Was it ever confirmed whether there were any suspension revisions on later cars?
I get the ECU thing as an argument to go a couple years older but when there were concerns over the rear suspension set up it seemed that some suggested there may have been revisions made to later cars but I’m not...
I checked in with mine yesterday. I ordered on 8th December 2021 and have no updates as yet. Based on the above, hopefully I can expect an actual Expected delivery date by the end of March
This makes sense to me. Back in the old days when they had these things called a dipstick I was always told that the engine should be warm, the car on a level surface and that it should have been left to stand for around 20 mins before taking a reading.
The reason is if you try and take a...
