Just to clarify. I can just reuse the bolts for the aluminum skid plate? I’d just have to torque to 41 ft-lbs and tighten another 45 degrees? I only took out the 12 bolts holding the skid plate.
Just tried my local BMW dealer and they said I needed a VIN number for it. I’ll probably just go with this: Liqui Moly 2003 Mos2 Long-Life Grease, 100 ml https://a.co/d/3nZQBaC
I doubt using this would cause any problems.
I read the thread again and saw that you added grease to steering rack thrust bush. Do you think I can use this: Liqui Moly 2003 Mos2 Long-Life Grease, 100 ml https://a.co/d/dkxPJgq instead of the FB-1 from BMW?
I actually saw this post but I’m not sure where exactly this is located at for LHD. I know I have to get under the car, but I’m not sure where it is exactly at.
I’m getting new aftermarket brake pads installed this weekend (Powerstop Z16s). Typically they do brake bleeds during install right? I’ll update this thread once I get those pads installed.
I was just pulling into my garage. So at low speeds. I’m lightly pressing the brakes, but this sound occurs without hitting the brakes at low speeds. The AC is on.
So I’ve tried to get two dealerships to look at it and they’ve told me two different things. The first dealership said it was due to the brake pads shifting. The second dealership believes that it’s the aftermarket front lip that’s making that sound. Both dealerships checked my suspension system...
I wish I could. I’m just gonna take it to the place that’s charging $230. I don’t have the proper tools to jack up the car at the moment, and I’ll be moving to a different city very soon, so I’d rather just get it out the way than wait for parts/tools to arrive. Maybe in the future? ?
Sorry to reopen this thread, but did you loosen all 4 bolts (2 on each side), then readjusted it? Or did you complerely remove the bolts and screw it back in?
I do want to replace my pads with the Powerstop z16s. I talked to a local shop and they’d install it for me for $230. I also spoke with a Toyota Dealership and they said they’d charge $400 just for the installation alone.
I attached a picture of my rear right and front right brake pads. Are they still good? I have around $27k miles on the odometer, and it’s daily driven, never tracked. Excuse the brake dust o_O. I thought about switching them to Powerstop Z16s for less brake dust, but if these still have life I’d...
