Honestly I'm not sure, I just know it's the same stuff that he uses to coat pistons and it's good up to 1800 degrees. No idea how effective it will be, but I figured with that and a shield it should at least help.
I don't see much talk about ceramic coating downpipes. Is there any reason NOT to do it? Is it effective at helping control heat? Easier to just get a heat shield?
I have mine out getting coating currently and was just curious why it wasn't more common.
Finally managed to get it in the air. Short wheelbase required me to add pads on top of the lift arms to get the jack points to all line up correctly. Dropping off downpipe for cerakote tomorrow.
Also found the source of the rattle I'm hearing at idle so will fix that as well when the downpipe...
Coming from Hondas it was easy to find full parts diagrams and I got good at looking up specific parts for those cars. My S2000 had a pretty poor top replacement job prior to my ownership and I went through and replaced a bunch of factory fasteners. That was quite a chore even with the diagrams...
This was a large part of why I recently bought used. Found a tunable A91 in a color I love (Refraction Blue), already had PPF/ceramic and a few mods that I'd planned to do immediately on a new '22. Spent a bit over MSRP but overall saved myself 5-10k overall for what I got versus what I had...
Bought my car used and I'm wondering if I'm missing a couple fasteners. Some pics I see have fasteners here, many don't. Also, does anyone have a source for these or any of the other commonly broken plastic fasteners for this car?
Yeah I've been using the Signature Series in my Hondas for years, but read here people suggest the Euro LS for the Supra. Honestly I have no idea what the difference is between the two.
+1 on this
About to do my first oil change and the local Toyota dealers says they've had quarts of 0w-20 on order for months. I can get Amsoil locally, so plan on going with that instead but had planned on going with the Euro LS due to other posts I've read here. Based on what's been posted...
I usually choose more low-key colored cars, but in this case I fell in love with this blue and figured I'd try something different. I love the yellow too, though I don't think I could see myself driving one. We'll see though how I like having the blue and maybe I'll try a yellow car sometime...
I was initially considering getting the latest gen NSX, but just couldn't justify the cost and the fact that I'd be too scared to mod the thing at that price point. Realized I could have a very fast Supra for half as much and so far I have no regrets.
Yeah it's lowered on Eibach Z4 lowering...
Thought about trying to keep it, but just can't justify having it sit. I also have an S2000 and an Element for winter (#hondafanboy) so the CTR and the Supra both share the same purpose for me. The fact that I can sell the CTR for more than I paid helps as well.
Drove it 13h straight home after flying in to pick it up. Gave me a chance to get to learn some of the cool features. I'm absolutely in love with the car. Now I just need to get my Civic sold ?
I just purchased a used Supra that has already been tuned using ecutek. The seller provided the ODB2 device, the cable and the usb license key. When I try to connect with bluetooth on my phone, it looks like it connects then immediately disconnects. I'd like to be able to interface with...
Had an opportunity come up that allowed me to go with another option that I liked as much or better than the red interior. Picking it up next Friday :D
Something to consider for those using the e-brake is that it likely does not keep the brake lights illuminated. Do the brake light stay on when using the cruise control method?
