Ok, so not following factory recommendations and berating people who also donāt follow recommendations but err on the more frequent side. And assuming you know more than they do. Got it.
The root of the disagreement here is that we donāt seem to have have the same understanding of brake fluid life. Changing your oil at 1k miles is not a fair equivalency to changing your brake fluid every 2 years. It seems youāre assuming that the water absorption, heating of fluid from hard...
Yeah itās not expensive nor time consuming. This is the factory interval for my sport bikes and got me in the habit of doing it for my passenger cars as well. I think the factory recommendation on most German cars is every 3 years.
Excellent advice. And for a non-track driven car, Iāve always aimed for a brake fluid change every 2 years minimum. Not sure what the Supra factory recommended interval is, but Iām sure someone will chime in and correct me ?
No, dealer markups are a coordinated effort to benefit off of limited supply while adding no extra benefit vs the profit they would already make from the car. They also control the supply, as laws in most states force sales through dealerships because of billions of dollars spent on lobbying...
The good folks at MHD got back to me with a 2nd follow-up and also stated that the TCU is in charge of shift points and overall shift strategy, as Phantomx also stated above. Therefore, my assumptions were incorrect and apparently what Iām observing is the stock shifting behavior with the...
Tried stage 0 and stage 1 - seems the same. Also, I overstated the issue - I can tell that throttle % does have an impact on gear selection for all maps. It just seems to bias way too high of a gear and requires too much throttle input to downshift - especially between 30-60MPH in traffic...
I think you do have to have multi map flashed to control exhaust valve. You hold BC to get in to the MHD+ menu, then short presses of BC to go through the different options. Itās then the little thumb wheel on the left side of the steering wheel to change maps or open/close the exhaust valve.
