  1. BM3 Start-up Roar always present

My car is catless and even if I turn off sport mode before starting, it’s not quiet with start up roar. I live in a nice area of Chicago and my detached garage is right next to my rich neighbor’s bedroom in their huge, historic house on our quiet street. We don’t all live Down Under, Phil ?
  2. Contactless locking/unlocking (coding)

Ohhhh snap, gonna try this tonight
  3. Finally buying tires

Summer tires at cold temps is not a good idea from a safety point of view - I’d also be careful, as I’ve heard (have not confirmed
) that some insurance companies will not cover an accident if you’re found to be on summer tires outside of their safe temp range. I’d say park the car at temps...
  4. BM3 Start-up Roar always present

It’s just not as black and white as you’re describing. I’ve got MHD+ and when I turned off cold start but did not check the “start up roar” button, the car does the start up roar most of the time. However, the very first time i cold started the car after flashing, it did zero roar and started...
  5. Well….I guess my DME is locked 😔

Haha been there, man. We all have.
  6. What did you do to your Supra today?

Did a brake fluid flush AGAIN. Ate Typ 200 the first time made the master cylinder squeak and the brakes felt very soft. Flushed again with BMW DOT 4 and the squeak is gone and brakes are factory-firm again. WTF? Some posts state that BMW brake systems need a very thin fluid and Ate may not...
  7. What did you do to your Supra today?

Took me two evenings but I pulled the wheels, washed, decon’ed, clay bared, polished, alcohol wipe down, and Gyeon ONE ceramic coat. Also did the calipers. Damn are these things glossy now! Rest of the car is next ? BC Forged RZ05 - and of course the one rock chip on the whole set and the...
  8. Supra has the lowest maintenance costs

If we can’t trust Hotcars for the utmost in journalistic integrity - who can we trust??? Jk WTF is hot cars? AI created articles to generate clicks/ad revenue? Seems it’s working

  9. Do any of you want to do the Subwoofer mod (as made famous by Tadda?)

Good thinking! And I was just in a rare mood and was being a jerk for my own amusement. Install looks great ? and I’m also a Telecaster guy! There, I feel better ?
  10. Do any of you want to do the Subwoofer mod (as made famous by Tadda?)

Perfect - that way anything small you put on the trunk liner will roll right on in there ? Looks like a put put course ?
  11. What did you do to your Supra today?

Wheel prep day: removed wheels, washed, iron decon, clay bar, and then polished. Guy I bought these BC Forged wheels from only used them 500 miles on his Z4, but there were so many scratches and swirls. Nylon brush to clean them? Automatic car wash? Maybe he used gravel to clean them? To...
  12. Salvage & Wrecked Supra Registry

This one is also missing something.
  13. Beware of Continental Toyota in Hodgkins, IL

You’ve entered an argument with someone that entered this conversation with no real arguement. Any point he’s trying to make is unclear and randomly shifts from post to post and even within a single post. Remember; he originally posted to your thread about avoiding a dealer to say you should...
  14. Beware of Continental Toyota in Hodgkins, IL

Phil, what is the point you’re trying to make? That the OP and everyone on here are saying that we shouldn’t have free markets? The discussion is that the OP wants to find another dealer that doesn’t play games. That’s literally participating in the free market.
  15. Beware of Continental Toyota in Hodgkins, IL

I live very close to this dealer, and they’re along my typical evening cruise route in the Supra. Never been there, for clarity, so can’t add to the discussion other than saying I also don’t do business with dealers that play these types of games with their customers.
  16. 2021 ECU and tune

You can tune it, it just costs more to have it unlocked and you have to send the ECU overseas to do so. Not a big deal, according the many folks on here that have done it. I think getting rid of the car if it was a good deal, you like the spec, and it is low miles would be short-sighted just...
  17. Misaligned rear LCA bolt to hub assembly.

Euro Eibachs for me and zero issues. It looks amazing - huge transformation of the looks of the car from that one small mod alone. Yes, it’s stiffer and I go slowly over driveways, etc but this is my fun car so it’s ok. My daily driver is only barely lowered, and I wouldn’t want to have to be...
  18. Servicing brakes

I changed my front pads without removing the calipers (normal method for fixed calipers, I suppose?) and I didn’t have to jiggle the original Brembo pads - I had to pry them out and it wasn’t easy. Lots of rubber cement-like glue on the back of the pads. Other than that, it was pretty simple...
  19. Misaligned rear LCA bolt to hub assembly.

Fantastic!!! We’ve all been there, and I know the feeling of having a breakthrough like that. Get it buttoned up, post some pics, and go for a drive or two this weekend!
