White smoke is never a good sign.
Best to have it checked at the next service....
Before that though, best to look at your coolant levels if you can and just look under your engine for anything obvious leaks, etc..
Could be many things(gasket, air intake, etc) and best not to speculate until...
The guy could of jumped on this forum and learned how to reset the lights. lol I guess he had nothing better to do than drive to BMW.............. Why didn't he take it back to Toyota? Since thats who changed the oil......
Well had my Supra serviced for the oil service today. I still get the message that I need to have the oil serviced. It won’t let me reset it is says impossible.
After you check the oil level like Ultimateone mentions, another option you have is to just reset the clock for the oil change frequency, using the instruction described here https://www.supramkv.com/threads/how-to-oil-change-instructions.2382/page-2 .
I personally would use this reminder as...
Hi. I just had my Supra LE serviced yesterday. The Dealership doesn’t know how to reset the oil light since it say “Impossible”. They say the mileage is low and it’s not at 10k yet although service required light is on. Anyone had this issue with their dealership? Or know how to reset...
Well, you can reset the oil service light yourself and if you can get under the car it really is not difficult to do. 6.9 quarts of oil and the filter on the top left of the engine. The filter kit (oem is like $9) comes with a new rubber gasket for the filter and a crush washer for the drain...
...a few seconds and the car will pop up a message regarding the oil, (and other services if you cycle through using the odometer button). The oilreset screen does it say a reset is possible or impossible? The car will not let you reset the oil service until the correct time has passed. If it...
Oil change 2 completed (the first was to get the break-in oil out). Amazing it has already been a year. Slight edit to the notes, you cant just go into diagnostic mode (by holding down the odometer button) and reset the service indicator. First you need to put the car in diagnostic mode. To do...
So just because I was able to install an MHD tune without any formal unlocking procedure does not mean I am immune to being locked in the future by a dealer update, Correct? Also, in my Mustangs it was a simple process for the owner to reset the oil change monitor.through the dash controls. No...
Yeah, I've had my vibration disappear to almost nothing as well even though it's set to strong. Doesn't bother me enough to reset though. All this driving assistance complexity I could do without.........except for the cruise control radar. That is great and works well.
I did the oilreset and mine still shows 9000 miles but changed the date to 2021..... does anyone know how to reset the miles?
Oh, and don’t forget to put towels around the oil filter..... I now have oil dripping down the engine and sitting in the skid plate! lol going to pull the plate off...
Good questions.
I am sure you will get all kinds of answers, that always seems to happen when “oil” is the topic.
As noted, I did my first change at around 3k. Based on what I have read, it seems to be pretty much agreed upon, that your first oil change change should be done sooner rather...
...the screen reads, “Service mode” or something like that.
*Release the trip button and press it again, the screen should read, “Engine oilreset?” and the number of miles and date of the next scheduled reset
*Press and hold the trip button again
*The screen should then read, “Engine oil...
The reset instructions worked. Here is more detail. With the engine off and foot off the brake, rapidly push the start button 3x. The car will report it is in diagnostic mode on the dash and the amber engine warning light will illuminate. Hold down the odo reset button and then the car will show...
I am looking for the CBS reset instructions. There is a chance you cannot do this without a scantool meaning the car will forever tell you that you need to change the oil once you hit that 10k mark until it is reset at the dealership. There are some guides for older BMWs that state this can be...
that's a bit of exaggeration lol. you can still change oil on many cars yourself. :) Sure the really high tech ones you have to bring it into dealer for most things.
Cars have not just gotten more boring but modern tech has made them almost impossible to work on (some brands). They are literally less accessible.... try working on a modern bmw or audi - u need to bring it into the dealer just to remove the bumper. Try working under the hood of a current...
