There's no way to know how much air space they need without knowing the thiele small parameters. Just giving them more airspace without knowing what they require is more likely to be detrimental than it is helpful.
I'd pass on the whitelines. I had them in my Q and the first time they were removed they snapped (only 12k miles on them too). Been running SPL ever since with no issues.
