I attempted to take it to the Toyota dealer to get the steering wheel aligned (delivered crooked). For some ODD reason they did not have a "special tool" to accomplish this. Unfortunately, I did not find that out until after I sat there for an hour.
I tried 2 other dealers with the exact same car, NO moving off MSRP at all. They were miffed that I even asked, lol. I also found a used 2021 with 4k miles and they wanted almost $2K more than the brand new car new quote I was offered at $45200 ($500 vet rebate in there). They refused to budge...
I have a dealer offering me $2216 off of msrp on a 2022 2.0 w the safety package. The dealer near my house refused to match this. They wanted msrp so I said ttyl. The other dealer 3 hours away offered $45,700 plus tax, title, $250 doc fee and refused to go any lower. I think I am gonna pony...
I will be looking to buy a 2022 Supra 2.0. I'll start making offers at the end of December, and at the end of each month after that. I am hoping I can get one close to invoice, but with a lack of inventory, I may have to go further to find one for my price.
That's why I will never get rid of my NA8. It's just too much fun to drive!

And because I have no need for the V6 Supra, I'll probably buy the 2.0 come Spring.
I saw that. I guess the accident was neither the fault of the Outback or the 86. The 86 was at a stop sign, and not moving. Funny thing is, we have that exact same Outback in a different color as well!
Motortrend has quoted another Magazine, NOT a source from Toyota or Subaru themselves, so there is that. I would be really surprised if they sell a 260 HP GT86, and I would also be really happy because I would purchase that in a manual rather than the Supra 2.0 in automatic. Time will tell!
I would not hold your breath for a TURBO 86. That would place it right near the Supra 2.0. The take rate for autos on the 86 is 70% or so, so that would kill the 86 sales me thinks, but $10K or so will separate those two. But, what do I know? Best guess is 225-230 hp and with a manual...
This is pretty cool, how did you find out about the little SOS speaker? Hopefully this thread keeps me busy until I order my 2.0 this summer. Following on IG too!
My plan is to enjoy this 86 for the next 6 months, a few trips to the Appalachian Mtns, then drive it from Ohio to Seattle, then down the coast to LA, to Vegas, Arizona and back to Ohio. It's a fun car to drive. I'll probably trade it in on a 4 cylinder Supra if I can work the deal I want.
