Yup! It's a feel that you have, or don't have. And you can tell instantly if someone does or not. I've trained a lot of new drivers, and some take 20 minutes to get into a difficult dock, others take 2.
Best I can describe it for myself is, when I pull up to a place, I see the picture of...
I see it in my profession every day. 40 year vets who still can't back a semi to save their life, and rookies who will do it with their eyes closed.
"Natural Talent" is the base they build from. It's a touch that if you don't have it, you'll never get. No matter how hard you train.
Guys like...
Love RPM!
I've said it before, I haven't seen anyone like Max since Senna. Maybe ever. I've been following him since F3, and even then he was incredible. Only losing the title because of reliability. He had more wins than Ocon. In the beginning he was impatient, made some beginner mistakes...
2007 was unreal. Besides the McLaren driver drama, Spygate was happening at the same time. McLaren was having a baaaaad year lol. Ferrari's first year without Schumacher. It was crazy. Ferrari got both titles gifted to them by Mclaren's infighting and losing their constructors points because of...
Ric left because he saw the writing on the wall. Even though Ric did technically beat Max the one season (I don't count half a season) Max was always ahead of Ric when he had to retire. Their third season together (second full season) Max absolutely dominated even with Ric's higher dnf rate...
Think you mean 2007 lol. And how would you feel if you were a 2 time champion and your own team principal had the team work against you for some rookie? If Dennis had backed Alonso, they'd have won the championship, not Raikkonen. For a "longtime" fan, you sure have your facts wrong lol.
Alonso...
I would love to see it happen, but I can't see it. They have too many drivers in their stable already. Red Bull keep saying Checo is a Red Bull driver, but that can easily mean he's in an AT next season, as we've seen with Kvyat, Albon, Gasly and Ric. The ONLY reason that hasn't happened yet is...
Yuki drove a great race though. He was only 3 seconds or so behind Ric even though he started way behind. If he hadn't messed it up passing Piastri, he'd have been driver of the day for me.
In Mexico the AT just worked REALLY well.
Let's see how they do in Brazil. Similar altitude, so will be...
Lando is the wrong choice. My money would be on Oscar every time. That kid is developing really nicely. It will be really interesting to see how Lando will react next season, if Oscar's performance will push him to new heights, or if Oscar will flat out dominate. But I feel like Lando has hit a...
Lol no. Max doesn't sweat anybody. Ric did an amazing job, no doubt. But Albon was playing in the same positions until his lap got deleted. The high altitude affects cars differently. Coupled with the ridiculous long straight there's time to be had. Will be fun to see how the race develops.
Hybrid is perfect for the rotary as it fixes its two main flaws. Lack of torque and EPA compliance. Using electric as a torque fill would've been awesome but from what I understand it runs on electric power, and the rotary element is just a generator. So unless there's a "sport" mode that let's...
On to Mexico. Mercedes might have a good (legitimate) shot there at high altitude. Their car has always been draggy, and the high altitude alleviates that. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mercedes do well there, and Brazil.
I'm just laughing at all the fools (who probably watched the SKY broadcast) who believe Toto and Hamilton's comments of how they are close to Red Bull now.
I guess they didn't watch the Sprint where the real pace difference showed when both cars worked 100%.
Max nursing a brake problem...
