What MMI do you have? The output on mine's way better than stock, but that's because the MMI has its own EQ. If you adjust both the MMI and iDrive's EQ, the sound quality's actually good
I would look into buying a place first, but because prices and interests are crazy, maybe you can look into renting a place. Although a Supra is a nice to have with a good Salary, I wouldn't necessarily jump into buying one before being settled in. You never know when your parents want you out...
If you're stock, throttle's going to be more sensitive and jerkier. If you floor it and let go, you'll hear a rapid/loudish burble. If you downshift at the highest RPM the car will allow, there will be no pops/burbles. At lower RPMs there will be more burbles. It's fun to use on backroads, but...
Oh shit, I thought I was just being stupid and maybe coded something wrong. I noticed I tried to disable it, but it still stayed on. Thought it was just me, but didn't bother to check since I drive in sport 99% of the time.
Edit: Another thing I noticed is a new warning screen on the headunit...
Did you notice any difference in sound quality? I would assume that the audio in the USB is at 192kHz, so maybe it sounds better than Bluetooth streaming?
The silicone coupler can actually come out loose when tightening the clamp, if the clamp is too far from the edge. Give the intake elbow a shake and use a flashlight to check if couple's loose. If the elbow has play, it's probably loose. The assembly should normally be stiff.
I programmed it in for my android MMI, because sound won't work if it's not programmed. You can find how to do it here:
