  1. Goodbye Supra gang.

Kidding about the oil. I already know the spec is the infamous 0W20. The GR86 forums argue about oil almost as much as here. šŸ˜‚
  2. Goodbye Supra gang.

I guess when I downgrade to a GR86 next spring I’ll just slink off quietly into the night. I wonder what oil that Subbie Boxer engine uses?
  3. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

    BMW is not in Japan…
  4. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

Self reply-I cannot believe I’m old enough that because of inflation a $100,000 car is no longer in the astronomically expensive supercar realm. 🤪
  5. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

The least expensive Ferrari is, I believe, the Portifino and that car STARTS at $215,000. And good luck finding no options base supercars. What I consider supercars (thinking 911 T, MacLaren, Aston, Ferrari and the like) legitimately start at probably $250,000 and up. I don’t disagree with...
  6. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

Just a simple question here. I am NOT trying to start an argument. Is a $100,000 plus Boxter or Cayman GTS a ā€œsuper carā€? Are those cars $50,000 better than our cars? What about the $150,000 and up more track focused models? Those cars are 2 to 3 times more expensive than our Supras yet...
  7. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

In this particular thread, yes, we are talking about a stock car. I’m not even sure what we are discussing anymore. If you read my response above you’d see that I’m also not interested in this car. However, I can acknowledge that to most people (me included) it’s a damn good looking vehicle...
  8. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

What does swapping engines and modding have to do with a discussion about a stock vehicle? We get it. You don’t like the car.
  9. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

Full transparency-I am not interested in the car either. However, I just don’t see how we can not at least recognize it is a quite good looking vehicle (to most people) and with the 4 cylinder/auto powertrain IS a very quick and capable car. Your statement insinuates that an 11.7 quarter...
  10. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

Only if an MR2 runs an 11.7, stops from 70 in 145 feet, and pulls 1.08g.
  11. Thinking of selling Supra for a Lotus Emira - Opinions?

The 4 cylinder auto is more than a second faster in the quarter. CD ran an 11.7 in one. But don’t let the manuals are faster crowd know. šŸ˜‰
  12. Site Downtime: Our Apologies

    Hope she wasn’t too late.
  13. “GR Decal” for Strut Tower Bar - available

The inserts you can get for the WeatherTech mats also work.
  14. 1200 miles break-in service

I’m lowered (.8 inch) and have to drive the fronts onto a 1x4 for clearance. Rears clear. On factory height they clear with no issues.
  15. 1200 miles break-in service

It’s been like 5 years ago now but I found a QuickJacks bundle online from Home Depot of all places. It was an outstanding deal. Picked up the 7000 model, truck adapters, and wall hangers for less than what QuickJacks wanted for just the jacks. With that set up I’ve recouped my investment...
  16. 1200 miles break-in service

The only reason to avoid the dealer for an oil change is inconvenience. If you can screw the lid back on a two litre bottle of Coke you can change oil in this car. It’s that easy. I’ve never understood why so many people think Toyota mechanics can’t do it. I do my own maintenance simply...
  17. One Owner Mk4 Supra for Sale - Bring a Trailer

Whoever purchases that MK4 will be doing so as an investment. All the things you mention are irrelevant at this point. I don’t disagree though. I’ve never understood the cars as investments appeal.
  18. How bad did they screw my Supra?

Or listen to Bryan. He knows what he’s talking about as long as it’s not oil. He’s clueless about oil. Having to recalibrate the steering rack is a new one for me. I can’t imagine how bad an alignment was for that to be a thing. And this boomer has had hundreds of alignments over the years.
  19. How bad did they screw my Supra?

Then if you can’t do it yourself, take it back to the shop that installed the SPL parts. You may have to pay them a little bit it won’t be much. It will be easy to find. Or if you want to force the issue you could make the alignment shop have it fixed and they’d have to send it to a shop but...
  20. How bad did they screw my Supra?

The only issue an alignment can cause is damaging or disconnecting a sensor. If you can’t do it yourself, take it back to the shop. It will not be difficult for them to find the disconnected or damaged sensor and either reconnect or replace it. Leaving a sensor disconnected happens every...
