They do this all the time. Remember the existing bodied IS-F testing at the Ring that turned out to be an early test mule for what is known today as the Lexus RC-F?
Now don't get too excited... but an NSX was out testing at Nurburgring yesterday and it was kind of an odd sight. It was following a stock Mark IV Supra. Da heck?! (is what you should be thinking).
Was Toyota just running an old Supra for giggles at the Ring or was there more to it? Well the...
It was definitely closer to 2 years IIRC for the 86 project to the FRS production. There were more than one concept too.. who knows maybe FT1 skips that and gets pushed forward quicker. I would love to see a late 2015 MY but I have my doubts.
It'll look much more tame in production form. Especially the interior which shows a pretty futuristic fighter jet windshield display. That will for sure not be seen in any production Supra in the near future.
Bah i dont want no stinking bmw engine. I was hoping they were developing a platform together and the engine would be toyotas. They supposedly have a twin turbo v6 slated for the next IS-F. That would be PERFECT for the Supra.
To introduce some reality into this discussion: the mark iv supra had a curb weight of:
1,460 kg (3,219 lb) (non-turbo)
1,550 kg (3,417 lb) (turbo)
15 years later of a ton of new safety requirements for sports cars with bigger engines, bigger brakes, bigger tires and way more technology and...

For any kind of reliable specs to go off of we need to see one that is actually based on the future joint BMW platform and not just a design study.
We all know car companies monitor forums and are all about social media these days and Toyota is no exception. Akio has already said that if they get a lot of positive feedback they will build it. Let's LET THEM HEAR IT! Spread the word and tell them how excited you are at the sites below...

Slick thinking but the intent to use form is just a form basically affirming you plan to use it and then attaching the symbol that you plan to use for the trademark. :)
Remember, trademarks are good for a set number of years and you don't just lose it the instant you stop needing it. The USPTO requires you to file a "declaration of use" between the 5th and 6th year after registration and another declaration of use (along with a renewal application) between the...
