This is from a BMW blog and it says that Toyota will contribute to the design as well. That to me means that Toyota is the one leading the design and possibly contributing to the BMW version in addition to its own. That would make sense since the FT-1 was Calty (Toyota) made and has no platform...
Technically we don't even know if it is a real life program headed to production. So of course we don't have details like that yet. I would guess given how long Toyota has been out of the sports car game, the fact that it has no current platform to work with and how much cash in its books it is...
The prob with the shelby mustangs and the even more powerful GT500's is that they still use the same interior as the rental V6's out there. Sure you can boatloads of HP if you want but there is no modding a cheap and parts bin interior. This is where the mustang and (hopefully) the supra will be...
Toyota insiders have already hinted that they favor a V6 for the Supra, if for no other reason than they want to avoid redundancy with the 86. A V6 and up just makes more sense for Toyota's flagship performance vehicle.
This is from Toyota's chairman who said that this new sports coupe will be...
Just replied to the LF-LC thread and got to thinkin. How's the FT1 / Supra going to compare? Not at all since it's going to be a LFA level type car or will there be shared components and tech?
One of the most interesting things about this car for me is that Calty designed it and there was only one concept version. Might mean that there'll only be one FT1 concept model too.
Plus when the production LF-LC / SC is shown we'll see how much of the design is chsnged. Might tell us how...
The MKIV Supra is gonna be in World of Speed. It's a free multiplayer racing game with a lot of tracks all over the world. You can form motor clubs, wear team liveries etc. Best part is it's free to play (they may have add-ons that you can buy)
It's in beta testing which you can actually sign...
Did you read the specs? It weighs over 3600 pounds and that's around 300 pounds more than the 991 911 S so the AMG may match
They listed weight at a bit over 3600 pounds, or around 250-300 lbs heavier than the 991S. It may end up having same or even better track numbers, but doesn't mean it'll...
My guess is the BMW chassis is real, whether or not the driver actually knew what he was talking about. The rest of it sounds like he was just regurgitating rumors that we have all heard around the interwebz.
Here are a few competitor's sizes compared to the FT-1.

I could see that seeing as how I think the price will be comparable, if slightly less for the Supra. The question also is whether a TT V6 would be the base or the top dog.
If you need more convincing that the bogus rumors about an AWD supra (when it has been said by Tada that it will be RWD) or a prohibitively expensive hybrid powertrain are indeed bogus, take a read at this autonews article.

Nah, it takes years. I wouldn't make too much of it testing at the ring, plenty of early mules/prototypes do this.
My guess is they happen to just be there. Possible the 86 shares a few components but I doubt too much else especially if they are testing the engine.
