Perfect solution now imo. I went with the shorter springs (one on each side) in the 1 3/4” length. Specs are listed in the image. Super elated with the end result.

Just picked up some additional springs in varying lengths and compression / force. I will update later today.

~ I purchased 4 washers and the spring package below (still a touch too long imo at 3”). The springs come in various lengths, thicknesses and load. Less than $10. I will work on the perfected solution and length tomorrow.

~ I certainly will. I plan to fine tune the helper spring length to about 2.5” (versus the 3” in the video)… hopefully I can obtain some locally tomorrow. Stay tuned … but at least I was able to make it happen (thanks to the idea of another members ‘vuuduu’ posting). ?

Okay… I purchased a helper spring from Ace Hardware… to complement the stronger support arms… Bingo!

~ Agreed. The lift necessary is very little (perhaps as inch) once ajar. These below would do the trick. Others and perhaps same company may offer these. The small spring allows for the initial inertia lift. I just hate having things in my hands, able to pop the hatch key fob button with one...

These arrived today... Easy install and a perfect fit. The trunk pops up higher than with the stock support struts and opens quickly... But it doesn't full open on it's own as anticipated. I’ve reached back out to the company for advise of which struts will allow an instant hatch raise with the...

A pet peeve of mine is when the car is not in sport mode the right side exhaust opening is closed. Doesn’t look balanced from behind (may not be a big deal to others). I don’t like the looks of the shiny silver disk in the opening when closed. A bmw thing. After some research … I elected to...

I pay $125 at my local BMW dealer. I’ve had 2 oil changes there thus far.
